The song "Hey Juliet" by LMNT is a perfect example of an allusion for Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. This song has always been one of my favorties ever since I was little and now getting to actually read Romeo and Juliet, I see why its a perfect song to match with the character Romeo. Romeo is a hopeless romantic who is in love with juliet and obsessive.. take a listen to the song and you will see exactly how obsessed he is.
In the lyrics of the song it states "Maybe someday, you and me could run away I just want you to know I wanna be your Romeo, Hey Juliet" these lyrics are referring as to if Romeo was actually singing the song to Juliet. In the story, Romeo tries to get Juliet to run away with him so that they ca actually be together without having to worry about what people thought of them.
