Ways to prevent water pollution in your everyday life
Contamination of water
The effects of water pollution are very serious. First, it pollutes our source of water.
- According to the NDRC, 127 out of 150 drinking water contaminants come from industrial pollutants.
- Over 73 different kinds of pesticides have been found in U.S. groundwater that eventually ends up in our drinking water
- Conserve water by turning off the tap when running water is not necessary.
- Be careful about what you throw down your sink or toilet.
- Don’t throw litter into rivers, lakes or oceans. Help clean up any litter you see on beaches or in rivers and lakes
