Brainstorm solutions

We struggled greatly to keep on task, but it was truly a worthwhile experience as it will not only help me in my projects in future but it also in a way helps foster stronger bonds as a team.

Usefulness
Survey/interview on helpfulness
- Provided tips and advice on presentation
Being the first year of IS, it was a first-timer for me and I was a little worried at first. I found it rather difficult to think of a good idea but eventually it came down to this.
We had to learn how to think critically to come up with an idea for our project, which we had a few difficulties with as we did not have any inspiration at first.
pressure from
parents and teachers
During the project, we had to learn how to be independent and take intiative to do something. I felt that it was a good experience because it exposed us to what it would be like in a working environment when we go out to work.
This project will help us to face difficulties with a cool head, and let us be friends for life.
Did you encounter stress/pressure?
I found it hard to juggle between projects and homework as the time frame was very short. Thus, I had to sacrifice some of my sleep time to complete on task. However, I did not complain as I knew this would train me in time management.
I encountered lots of stress from homework.
Resources
- Research on parent discussions on the Internet
- Understand their difficulties in mentoring their P6 children
It was the first time I experienced doing a project of such significance but I am not very nervous because my group and I have done ample preparations for it. But even by saying so, it does not mean I am not nervous at all. Presenting on stage in front of a large audience on something as important as this will definitely be a challenge for me.
Finals
Though, I would definitely do my best as I do not want to let my group mates down. All in all, I would say all these would serve as a valuable experience for me and I have honed my time-management skills along the way.
- Planned for ideas through research
Create powerpoint presentation
This is my first year doing such a significant project but I was not daunted at all as I had done many of such smaller scale projects in my primary school so I was quite confident. We thought of an idea of a PSLE Survival Kit quite quickly and we were done with the presentation soon enough.
- Problems coping with stress
Agenda
I had problems managing my time well, thus there was a lack of time for me.
Rationale
So far, it has been a good experience for us. We have chosen a very good topic as we had just "survived" the PSLE and we definitely had some problems along the way, thus we believe it is extremely relevant to us and many Singaporeans as the PSLE seems to be a huge hurdle for most P6 students. Although we had very few meetings with our mentor due to clashes in schedule, we worked hard and managed to keep on task.
