In November of 2008, Barack Obama was elected the 44th President of the United States. Obama was considered in American History to become the first African American U.S. President.
On September 11, 2001, nineteen terrorists hijack four planes and crash them into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Nearly 3,000 Americans were killed and over 6,000 Americans were injured. This was the largest attack on the United States since Pearl Harbor.
In 1991, the World Wide Web was publicly debuted as an internet service. This new service forever changes the United States and the entire world.
In 1999, U.S. President Bill Clinton was impeached from the position of U.S. President by the U.S. House of Representatives. The reason being was due to the Lewinsky Scandal of 1998.
In 1994, the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) went into effect. This agreement was signed between Canada, Mexico, and the United States and created a trilateral rules-based trade bloc in North America.

In November of 2000, George Walker Bush defeats Al Gore in the U.S. Presidential Election. Bush's victory, as a result, made him the 43rd President of the United States.
In November of 1992, Bill Clinton defeats President George H. W. Bush in the U.S. Presidential Election. Bill Clinton, as a result, becomes the 42nd President of the United States.
In November of 2004, George W. Bush was re-elected a second term as President of the United States. At the same time Republicans solidify control in both houses of Congress.
In 1998, the Lewinsky Scandal took place. This scandal was about U.S. President Bill Clinton having a sexual relationship with 22-year-old White House intern Monica Lewinsky. This event was controversial throughout the United States and had the same impact as the Watergate Scandal.
In 2010, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, or "Obamacare", was signed into law by President Barack Obama. This Act was meant to increase the quality and affordability of health insurance, lowering the uninsure rate by expanding public and private insurance coverage, and reduce the costs of healthcare for individuals and the government. This Act was the most significant addition to the U.S. healthcare system since the passage of Medicare and Medicaid in 1965.
