Materials

The Breadboards

The materials that we used were:

  • Arduino
  • LCD
  • Potentiometer for the contrast on the LCD
  • Keypad
  • Jumper wires
  • Resistors for the LEDs
  • Piezo/buzzer
  • LEDs

Breadboard #1

The purpose of this breadboard was to allow the Lcd screen to display all the characters as well as allow the speaker to emit the countown sound.

Breadboard #2

it was needed to to connect the keypad to the rest of the circuit.

Final Choice

We had chosen the Defusable bomb for multiple reasons:

  • It offered us the most challenge out of the three choices
  • we were able to adjust the code to affect the degree of difficulty
  • The function of our project is that the Lcd screen will light up with a countdown timer, in which the challenger is supposed to the defuse the bomb before time runs out

THREE CHOICES

  • The Three Choices that we had were the 2-person pong game, A defusable bomb, and a mini game of TETRIS.
  • We chose these three as we wanted to do something challenging, but wanted it to be fun as well.

Code

  • We had adjusted the wires and flipped the pins of the keypad around, as well as adjust the code.

Outcome

THE END

  • We were still struggling with some of the buttons not working, but it is still fully functional.
  • The main problem we encountered was that the keypad numbers were all connected to others number.

Problems

  • We already had a preset code that we just downloaded.
  • In the code we were able to adjust variables for the length of time the challenger had to defuse the bomb.
