The Final Battle

Moana rejoins Maui to defeat Te Ka and restore the heart of Te Fiti.

Moana can now live as she pleases as the Chief of Motanui and share her knowledge and gift of sailing with the people on her island.

Another main ally of hers is Maui the demigod. He is arrogant and very self-centered yet knowledgeable, and he draws his power from his hook.

Moana takes all she has learned to start up the voyages again and take on her role as the chief of Motanui.

Unconditional Love

Another quite eccentric ally of Moana's is none other than Water. Water is a sentient being who helps out Moana when she most needs it and no other times.

The spirit of Tala appears to Moana along with the spirits of the voyagers, telling her to remember who she is and not to give up.

Rescue and Escape

First Threshold

Moana must sail to find Maui using the stars and tell him to come with her and restore the Heart of Te Fiti.

Moana's first great ally is her grandmother, Tala. She is known as the village crazy lady, and always tells stories about old legends of Te Fiti and Maui. She is the one who also urges Moana to go on her adventure and shows her the origin of their people as voyagers.

With the help of Maui, she sails back to Motanui.

Road of Trials Cont.

To get Maui's hook back, Maui and Moana must travel to the Realm of Monsters and face Tamatoa, the giant evil crab who is obsessed with all things shiny.

Call To Adventure

The vegetation on the island is starting to mysteriously die and the fish are no longer coming into the reef, and Moana's grandmother tells her it's because the heart of Te Fiti needs to be restored by her. She also feels a calling in her heart out to the water, where she is forbidden to go.

Moana is the daughter of the chief on the island of Motanui, and the first in line to become chief later.

Refusal of the Call

Moana and Maui face many trials on their journey to restore the heart of Te Fiti. One is facing the Kakamora, or coconut pirates who steal things and cause mischief.

Resurrection

While Moana is left on the boat by Maui, she questions her life and who she is meant to be. She starts to tell herself that the heart will never be restored, and that she has failed her people.

While Moana herself never wants to refuse her call to the ocean, her parents tell her that she must stay and be the chief of the island. To please her parents, she complies and plays along for a while.

Refusal to Return

Maui and Moana are reluctant to leave each other with no certainty of seeing each other again.
