Buses
Encore Classes
* Bus riders get on and off the buses at the back of the building.
* Middle school and high school students ride together.
* Middle school students must sit in the seats in the front half of the bus.
* Car riders load at the front of the building.
You will be able to choose from the following ENCORE classes:
Art P.E. (required)
Music Media Assistant
Band Computers
Clubs: Fellowship of Christian Students (FCS); Student Council; Yearbook; and Hunter Safety
Academic Competitions:
Math Counts; Spelling Bee;
Battle of the Books; Robotics
Discipline
We follow the Yadkin County School Handbook. We expect you to follow the classroom/school rules.
Demerits - Students receive demerits for not following school or classroom rules.
Schedule
Reward Day
7:50am-3:10pm
We have Reward Days where students who maintain less than 5 demerits/quarter and have all their work complete, can participate in fun activities at school.
You will eat lunch between 11:40 am and 12:10 pm. You can bring or buy your lunch. Students may sit wherever they choose as long as the cafeteria stays clean!
Each day you will have 7 periods:
4 Core (L. A., Math, Sci., & Soc. Stu.)
1 FLEX Class
2 Encore Classes (Music, Art, etc.)
We offer the following sports at FMS:
Soccer Volleyball Cheer leading
Football Basketball Baseball
Track Wrestling Golf
You will be either on the 7 Red or the 7 Blue team which are made up of 4 teachers each.
Middle school will be an adjustment. Some of you may do GREAT and some may struggle.
We all want you to succeed. If you are struggling, don't hesitate to come see the counselor. All you have to do is ASK!
