Setting

The setting takes place called Wonderland, down a rabbit hole. 1923. "The rabbit hole went straight on like a tunnel for some ways, and then dipped suddenly down so suddenly that Alice couldn't stop herself before falling down." pg 12. This ties into the setting because Alice fell down the rabbit hole which led her to Wonderland like it said in the quote.

Point of View

The point of view is in 3rd person and also is limited. "Alice was not a bit hurt and she jumped up onto her feet in a moment..." This is 3rd person because it doesn't use personal pronouns. It uses 'Alice' and 'she'.

Characters

The protagonist is Alice. "Alice was beginning to get very tired of sitting..." pg 11. This quote proves the protagonist is Alice because it starts off in the book directly talking about her.

The antagonist is all the other characters in the book. "The trail cannot proceed," said the king in a very grave voice,"until all the jurymen are back in their proper places-all..." pg 83. That quote proves the connection in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland because character, the king, is being extremely demanding and mean to Alice for a accident that she caused.

Theme

Conflict

Theme for Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is Growing up can be confusing and difficult "and so it was indeed; she was only 10" high" pg 14

"for when she looked down at her feet, they seemed to be almost out of sight they were so far off" pg 17

"How can i have done that? I must be growing small again" pg 19

Plot

The Plot contains the rising action

climax and resolution

Mood

Resolution

Rising Action

The major conflict is when she is introduced to a new character and each one behaved and acted weird and strange. "No room! No room! they cried out when they saw Alice coming." pg 49. It's connected to because they were rude and acting strange to see her there.

The resolution is when Alice wakes up from her dream. "Wake up, Alice dear!.. dream!" This proves the resolution because Alice has woken up and her journey through the wonderland is over. All the events of the story have been answered. Her waking up is the outcome of the story, and it gives a good goodbye to the readers.

Tone

The rising action is when Alice follows the white rabbit down a well hole, which leads her to wonderland. She pursues him throughout the wonderland. "Alice started to her feet... in another moment down went Alice after it, never once considering how in she going to get out again..." pg 11,12.This quote proves the rising action because she is starting to encounter problems like how she is going to get out of the hole, when will she reach ground, and she is beginning to wonder where she is actually going. As soon as Alice reaches ground she starts to being solving the problems she has encountered so far.

The tone for Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is humorous and strange. One quote that says the tone is "...a large blue catapillar sitting on top with arms folded, smoking a hookah..." pg 34. A connection for that is It's very strange and un-natural for a catapillar to be large and blue, let alone smoking a hookah. "by-the-by what became of the baby? said the cat." pg 47. A connection for that is this is very strange and quite funny because animals don't talk expecially with that type of sphisticated language. The last quote is "Did you say pig or fig" said the cat." pg 47. The last connection is the fact that the cat is interacting with other characters is funny, and the fact he doesn't understand.

The mood for Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is confused and adventurous. "curiouser and curiouser" pg 17. A connection for that is Alice was confused on what is happening around her. Another quote is "oh dear, what nonsense I'm speaking" pg 17. A connection for that quote is Alice was surprised at her own thoughts and by what she is saying. "That will be a queer thing to be sure! However, everything is queer today" pg 20. A connection for that is Alice's whole day has been very strange to the point where she doesn't even expect normal things to happen

Climax

The climax is when Alice finally gets control over her size and enters the garden. She then participates in the trail of the Knaves Hearts. "She... began by taking the little golden key, and unlocking the door that led into the garden... she found herself at last in the beautiful garden.." pg 55. This proves the climax because Alice as been trying to enter the garden since the beginning of the book. By her entering the garden she can participate in the trail of the Knave Hearts. Those two events in the story holds all the action, curiousity, and suspense, there the evena that have the reader jumping out of their seats wanting more.
