BREXIT

Soll Großbritanien aus der EU austretten?

The campaign was indecisive from the beginning.

The official standpoint was "Leave" since it would allow independent control of government policies and budget.

It quickly became obvious that the campaign would not be one-sided as the Prime Minister at the time, David Cameron, supported the "In" vote with opposing party leader Jeremy Corbyn. This partially split the Conservative party.

Thousands of people demonstrated through London to protest against the referendum.

People joining the "March for Europe" held placards saying "Bremain" and "We Love EU". This event was organised by Keiran MacDermott on social media.Marches also took to the streets in other cities, including Birmingham, Oxford, Cambridge and even in Edinburgh, the capital city of Scotland.

(While Britain voted 52-48 percent to leave the bloc, Scotland voted 62-38 percent to remain in the union.)

At the 2016 Brexit referendum more than 50% voted for leaving the EU.

The process will be long, because there is no existing term for withdrawal among EU policies. During the leaving process the UK remains a member of the EU, and its future situation hasn't been established yet. We must ask how it all started? How does Brexit effect Britain? Will the referendum be an example for other countries? How will life and economy change?

All in all, what happens if BRitain really EXITs the EU?

Contrary to most expectations it seems the EU is urging the negotiations and in some cases they do not want to make expectations over other countries outside the EU.

This is most likely because they want to set an example for others, who are considering leaving the union.

Experts say even though the EU wants the UK to leave, this process will take several years, since negotiations have to be made with each member.

Most of the Hungarian people who live in the UK said that they are extremely disappointed in this country and the ignorant, racist, weak people win.

They feel fear of being expelled from their home country and this will have a bad effect on everyone – including British people-.

Following the historic 23 June vote to leave the EU, analysts were quick to predict the UK economy would grind to a halt or even shrink.

Others claim that they are not afraid because London needs foreign employees.

Investment bank UBS expects GDP to expand 1.9%, rather than 1.3%, in 2016. In 2017 growth is expected to slow sharply to 0.7%, just above a previous forecast of 0.5%.

The pound has weakened after the Brexit referendum, and has been losing its value since then. In a few airport shops prices are already the same in pound and euro as well, which isn't a positive perspective for the GBPs value which is getting closer to the euro day by day. However, the weak pound supports export, and this means a slight

relief for the British economy in its shock.

After the surprising results came in Cameron announced his resignation, leaving the launch of negotiations to his successor, Theresa May.

Most politicians did not expect the result, some supporting "Leave" expressed surprise. Even Nigel Farage, leader of UKIP, stepped back, saying he fulfilled his political ambitions.

This led to outrage among citizens, many of them calling him a coward.

Our team believes it wasn't a good decision for the British to vote for leaving the EU.

Britain has always been an important part of Europe and European history, economy and politics. This decision weakens their bond with Europe, which, we believe Britain still belongs to.

Brexit is harmful for the British as well, since the convenient and safe Northern European life style of the people is in massive danger, all for the fairy-tale of political independence, which unfortunately they haven't come closer to by

Brexit at all.

The UK is the fifth largest economy of the EU and the third most populous member state.

It has a huge influence on the European council and the European Parliament as well. Britain leaving the EU will mean that Germany becomes the leading political force of the EU.

For some countries, like Hungary, where the government

or some political parties are strongly opposing the EU or their country's membership the Brexit referendum sets a positive example of leaving the EU. These voices make EU politics more unstable than before, causing several worries.

Opponents of the EU argued that it is a dysfunctional economic entity.

The EU failed to address the economic problems that have existed since 2008… for example, 20% unemployment in Southern Europe.

The second reason for Brexit is the rise of nationalism across the world. Many who oppose the EU believe these institutions like the IMF, the EU or NATO no longer serve a purpose. Moreover, these organizations take control away from individual nations.

Mistrust and fear of losing control made Brexit a reasonable solution to them. The trigger was the

immigration crisis in Europe.
