Will T.J ever survive the judicial system?
I don't think T.J will survive the judicial system, not only because he is an African American, but because he is one accused of murder, thievery, and being abusive to "white" men. Even if another angry mob, or other people come and lynch him, he will probably be put into jail, or on a chain gang, or the equivalent of one."Come October, we would trudge to school as always, barefooted and grumbling, fighting the dust and the mud and the Jefferson Davis school bus. But T.J never would again."
