LUPANG TINUBUAN ni Narciso G. Reyes
(* 2 February 1914 in Tondo , † 7 May 1996 ) was a Filipino diplomat and writer . He was 1980-1982 Secretary-General of ASEAN
After school he studied at the University of Santo Tomas and graduated in 1935 with a Bachelor of Arts (AB) from and was subsequently 1935-1937 teacher of the English language at the University of Santo Tomas. At the same time, he worked as a journalist and worked among other things, 1935-1941 Associate Editor of the Philippine Commonwealth . Later he was from 1939 to 1941 employees of the Department for Tagalog at the Ateneo de Manila University . After working as an Associate Editor of the daily newspaper The Manila Mail 1945 to 1947 he was until 1948 a member of the editorial board of the Evening News .

He was subsequently appointed Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York City . He was also for a job as a reporter at the Office of the United Nations Commission on Human Rights from 1971 to 1972 from 1972 to 1974 and Chairman of the Executive Board of UNICEF . succeeded in this office was Hans Conzett .
Between 1977 and 1982 he served as Ambassador to the People's Republic of China

In 1984 he was awarded the Panitikan- Literature Prize of Manila.
