7) Christopher Columbus

- Italian explorer but financed by Spain

- Discovered the Americas

- A name for the Americas, especially during the time of first exploration and colonization of the Americas by Europeans

9) Treaty of Tordesillas

- Divided newly discovered lands between Portugal and the Crown of Castile

13) Tenochtitlan

- One of the three major Aztec city-states

- It was the capital of the Aztec Empire, and ruled the other city-states

- Largest city in the pre-Columbian Americas

- Spanish conquistador

- His explorations led to fall of Aztec empire

- Brought Mexico under spanish rule, and colonized first spanish settlements in the Americas

- Portugese explorer

- First person to circumnavigate the globe

- Was centered in the Andes Mountain Range

- Brought down by Spanish Conquistadors

- Consisted of three major city states in Mexico

- Brought down by Spanish conquistadors
