Why did she interest me?
Emily Warren Roebling interested me because she studied math and science when it wasn’t common for girls to do. When she was 15, she enrolled in a sort of college and studied history, algebra, geography, and French. When she was 56, she earned a law degree.
Why What major thing did they study or accomplish that has impacted our world today?
After the death of her father-in-law and her husband’s illness, Emily had to take on the huge undertaking of completing the construction of a bridge that would connect Brooklyn to New York.
Engineers are cool!
