JFK

  • as a child, nicknamed "jack" and always sick (whooping cough, scarlet fever, etc.)
  • participated in many competive sports (his father always encourage him to be the best)
  • attended an exculsvive prep school in Conneticut, Choate Rosemary Hall
  • Graduated from Havard as WWII began, inspiring his thesis that was published in the book "Why England Slept"

Kennedy Joins the Navy

  • Kennedy joined the navy and became the commander of the patrol topedo boat PT-109
  • The PT was hit by an unseen Japanese destroyer and split in two; led his men to safety
  • Recieve a Purple Heart and Marine Corps Medal for his heorism
