LSD

Description

LSD ( lysergic acid diethylamide) became known in the year 1938 from a Swiss chemist, Alfred Hofmann. It was mainly used in the 1960s and 1970s as a psycedelic drug and it is an extremely potent hallucinogen. LSD is manufactured from lysergic acid, which is found in ergot, a fungus that grows on rye and other grains. The effects of LSD are unpredictable. Usually the effects of the drug are felt 30 to 90 minutes after using it. The person may experience extreme changes in mood, feel several different emotions at once, or swing really quickly from one emotion to another. If taken this drug in large enough doses, the drug produces delusions and visual hallucinations. Individuals of all ages use LSD however, mainly teens use the drug. Some of the street names for LSD are: acid, doses, hits, microdot, dots, yellow sunshine, boomers, window pane, sugar cubes, tabs and trips.
