After tests are conducted, PET mixture is heated and then place in molds through a process called injection molding. (1)
80% of water bottle end up in landfills. When bottles are exposed to light, UV rays break down the plastic and release bisphenol A (BPA) and PS oligomer, which are toxins. (2)

Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) is made from petroleum hydrocarbon and is the made ingredient used in the production of plastic. Tests are conducted to see if the PET is permeable by carbon dioxide and to see if it is transparent, glossy, and thick enough. (1)
