Eurydice was the wife of Creon and the mother of Haemon and Megareus.
Jocasta was the wife of Laius and Oedipus, the sister of Creon and the mother/grandmother of Eteocles,Polynices, Antigone, and Ismene.
Laius was the father of Oedipus, husband of Jocasta, and Grandfather of Eteocles, Polynices, Antigone, and Ismene.
Creon became king when the two sons of Oedipus died. He said that Polynices was to be left on the battlegrounds while Eteocles would be given a proper burial. Antigone disagreed with that and buried Polynices nonetheless. He locked her in a cave to suffer but his son and Teiresias pleaded that she be released. After the two had left, Creon decided that Teiresias was never wrong so he let Antigone free. But of course, she had killed herself. After returning, Creon found that his son, Haemon and his wife had both killed themselves.
Eurydice loved her son so much that she killed herself upon knowing he was dead.
Eurydice blamed Creon for the death of Haemon. This was because he didn't take Antigone from the cave. Because of all this, Eurydice killed herself, leaving Creon to grieve

Laius was the King of Thebes. He had a son and was told that his son would kill him to marry his wife. In response, he sent his child(Oedipus)away where he was adopted. Oedipus eventually came back and killed Laius, not knowing that he was his father
Jocasta was a woman who was told where she was to go and whom she was to marry. But when she found that Oedipus was both her son and to be killed if exposed, she hung herself, showing that she cared very much for her family even though they treated her as a prize.
Lauis valued his life more than his son's showing that he is a selfish father but his hatred came back around when he was killed by his son.
Jocasta, with Lauis, left Oedipus with a servant to die after hearing that he would kill Lauis and marry her. But after a series of events Oedipus grows older in another family and returns, marrying Jocasta even though neither knew of their relation. Throughout this, a search was being made for the killer of Lauis but Joasta learned that Oedipus was the one and she warned him and then hung herself.
Haemon was betrothed to Antigone, brother to Megareus, and son of Creon and Eurydice.
Megareus was the son of Creon and Eurydice and the brother of Haemon.
Oedipus was the son of Laius and Jocasta, the husband of Jocasta, and the father of Eteocles, Polynices, Antigone, and Ismene.
Haemon was the son of Creon and the 2nd cousin of Antigone. He was engaged to Antigone until his father, Creon, left Antigone to die in a cave. Haemon, with the blind prophet Teiresias, begged Creon to release Antigone but Creon disagreed and so Haemon then killed himself.
Haemon was a very loyal person to have killed himself over his betrothed, whom he was not yet wed to. He could easily have chosen to leave her or act as though he and Antigone had never come across one another. And even in the families of that time that were wed, there was hatred. But Haemon seemed to understand that all people deserved the same as others( the principle Antigone seemed to live by as well.
Megareus was an unimportant part in the play Antigone. He, like many of his family members, die in the earlier plays. He was killed sometime during the feud between Polynices and Eteocles. His mother killed herself as she was angry at Creon for being the cause of the death of both of her sons.
Oedipus was the center of the first two plays. He was clever and was the first to respond correctly to the Sphynx's riddle. He blinded himself upon hearing of Jocasta's death, showing his love for family.
Oedipus was abandoned by his birth parents because of a prophecy that said he would kill his father and marry his mother. Rather than killing the child bound at the ankles, the servant gave him to a sheperd who eventually passed him to another family who brought him up. His name is the Greek word for swelling. As an adult, he believed the family he lived with was his birth family so he left and killed his father out of self defense, not knowing that the two were related. Upon killing the Sphnx, he won Jocasta (his mother) as a wife. After this he had fulfilled the prophecy of his birth and thus a plague fell to the land. Teiresias said that it was the fault of he who killed Lauis. Jocasta found that it was Oedipus, her son, husband, and murderer of Lauis who they were in search of. She killed herself. In turn Oedipus blinded himself and left with his daughter Antigone until he died.
Antigone was the daughter of Oedipus and Jocasta and the sister to Eteocles, Polynices, and Ismene.
Eteocles was the son of Oedipus and Jocasta and the brother to Polynices, Antigone, and Ismene.
Ismene was daughter of Oedipus and Jocasta and the sister to Eteocles, Polynices, and Antigone.
Polynices was the son of Oedipus and Jocasta and the brother to Eteocles, Antigone, and Ismene.
Polynices didn't really get a chance show his beliefs. He wanted the postion that was rightfully his and he died for it. He may be considered a murderous or persistent man.
Eteocles was a greedy brother who killed his own brother for the sake of holding his position as king. He was a cheater who tried to get more than his share of power.
Antigone went with Oedipus when he was exiled and stayed with him until he perished. Upon returning she found that both of her brothers had died leaving Creon, her uncle, as king. Creon gave one brother a proper burial and the other was left to rot. Antigone confided with her sister Ismene that she was to go and give Polynices a proper burial. Ismene tells her of the danger and reminds her of the deaths of much of their family but Antigone says that she is to follow God's law rather than man's. She holds a burial for Polynices but is put into a cave to suffer and die as punishment. She then killed herself.
Ismene was very obedient and soft-spoken. She followed man's law and was hesitant in speaking her opinion. She would have been very much like Antigone if not for her fear. She cares for her family but not enough to put herself in danger of death.
Ismene, being of a strange family of murderers and criminals, was unexpectedly loyal to the law. Much of her family died, and though she understood that their consequences were poorly assigned, she complied to what she thought was the best for her.She told Antigone to act as she did, showing she didn't care only for herself. Based on her decisions, she could be called selfish or logical but overall, she played a small part in the tradedy.
Antigone was the protagonist in the play Antigone. She was loyal to her family and what she believed. She sacrificed herself only to be sure that her brother got what he deserved. She didn't let her disadvantage as a girl stop her even though her sister reminded her of the punishments.
After his father Oedipus died, Eteocles became the King. He was to hanover the throne to his elder brother, Polynices at the end of his reign, but instead he attempted to keep the thrones. Rather than continuing as king, Eteocles created a tension between the 2 brothers that led to the death of them both.
After Oedipus died, Eteocles, the brother of Polynices, was to reign. After Eteocles' shift as ruler, Polynices asked for his position as king. Eteocles said no and thus the two brothers became enemies, fihting and killing each other, leaving the throne for their uncle, Creon. Polynices wasn't buried properly like his brother was. Creon believed that Polynices was a traitor and he left his body to rot. This is the start of the play Antigone.
Teiresias was the prophet who helped out. :)
Teiresias was a prophet who was blind but supposedly all knowing. He was looked to for help by Creon and his mindset and decisions were like those of Antigone and Haemon
Teiresias was the prophet who told Creon not to kill Antigone and to bury Polynices. Teiresias was blind but he obviously spoke the truth and stood for morality rather than power.
