In 1970, The Trans-Amazonian Highway project encourages settlement in the Amazon. Native species are put in danger.

In the very beginning, comunities started to develop in the Amazon Region. They were indians.

In 1500, Pedro Álvares Cabral, a portuguese militant and also a sailor, found America and claimed its land to Portugal.

As a huge country, and being colognized by so many different countries, hier you can see many different cultures from Italy, Germany, Portugal, France, Switzerland and even Japan.

In 1695, gold is discovered in Brazil's interior.

In 1960, Brasília is chosen to replace Rio de Janeiro as Brazil's capital.

In 1955, french forces occupy Rio de Janeiro Harbor. Two years later, Portugal regains control and stablishes the city of Rio de Janeiro.

In 1822, Brazil gains independence from Portugal.

Pedro I, son of Portugal's king, stablishes the brazilian empire.

In 1989, military forces Emperor Pedro II to give up his throne. Brazil becomes a republic with a president.
