*No one clearly knows who started the outbreak that killed more than 18,000 people, but we know that it spread through pigs("swine")
*The swine flu spreaded to many countries because the doctors did not have a cure for why so many people were becoming sick

Ace
My most significant event was when I adopted my first dog, Ace. Ace is an old, spoiled beagle dog that my family and I rescued on May 31, 2004. Apparently, Ace was abandoned by his old family and left in the woods somewhere up north, where the Humane Society then found him. He was locked up in a kennel for one year and suffers from seizures that occur a couple times a year. When he was in the kennel, he experienced a surger that took his vocal cords out - so he doesn't have the beagle houl. Adopting Ace was my most significant event in my life (so far) because it feels good to provide an amazing life to someone who was given a second chance, like Ace was.
