- In ancient times people believed that the Earth was the centre of the universe,that the Sun and the stars revolve around the Earth.
- But Nicolaus Copernicus pointed out that the Sun was in fact the centre of the universe, with the Earth and other star all revolving around the Sun.
- Copernicus further positioned the relationship between the revolving speed of the stars and the Sun.
- “De Humani Corporis Fabrica (On the Fabric of the Human Body)” authored by Andreas Vesalius
- This influential book used a large number of illustration drawings of the human body to explain its structures;
- A female body was dissected for the first time, overturning previous misconceptions about the female body.
