Activities and Athletics

Safety and Security Protocols

Advisory should remain but was suggested that it should not be used as an intervention period. Intervention time needs to be built into the class schedule.

• Continue with West Sound Middle School League for athletics

• Increased participation opportunities (ex: intramural sports)

• Activity Bus

Grading

  • Clear behavioral expectations and signage for students
  • Clear attendance procedures
  • Review student release protocol
  • Require adults to wear in-building identification

Culture Recommendations

Move forward with considering Standards Based Grading at the Middle School level.

  • All SKSD middle schools would need to be on the same page.
  • Report card would need to be revised.
  • Earliest implementation would be Fall 2018.
