Cytoplasm

"Peasants"

The city contains inside the castle people with many different trades that are necessary for the kingdom to function just as the cytoplasm contains organelles necessary to the cell.

Cell Membrane

"The Draw Bridge"

The cell membrane is like a draw bridge when comparing their every day job. The job of a draw bridge is to keep out pesky intruders, but allow by safe passage for the needed people and materials just like a cell membrane would do.

Endoplasmic

Reticulum

"The Stable"

The Endoplasmic Reticulum is like a stable because they both store things and act like a highway of sorts.

Vacuole

"Granaries"

Granaries store the energy and nutrines for the entire castle's population such as the vacuole in the sense that is stores energy for the entire cell's organelles.

Mitochondria

"Farms"

Farms supplies the city's with energy from the food it supplies which in returns helps the city to develop and function just like the mitochondria does for the rest of the organelles in the cell.

Golgi Apparatus

"Trade Carts"

Lysosome

"The Cesspit"

In castles, waste was dumped in well-like cesspits and moats to decompose. This is similar to when lysosomes break down materials no longer needed by the cell.

The trade cart system is involved in he packing shipping of goods and produce for transport. This is like Golgi apparatus that packs proteins and puts them in vesicles, like trade carts, for transport

Nucleus

"The King"

The king is the main guy that controls whats going on inside his castle and the direction the his subjects are going to face. This can be related to the nucleus in the fashion that it decides how the other organelles will process, and has most of the important DNA like a king would have have other lords of the land.

Ribosomes

"The Craftsmen"

Cytoskeleton

Craftsmen create and assemble articles needed by the castle that can resemble ribosomes assembling proteins needed by the cell.

"Pillars"

The pillars and support beams of the castle holds up the castle, and gives it's unique archetype such as many famous castles in Europe like the Calella de Palafrugell. This can be related to the cytoskelton because it also gives the shape and support to the entire cell.
