Bianca

What about other characters and their opinion towards women....

How is Bianca treated throughout the drama?

Relationship with Cassio...

Cassio is happy to sleep with her yet dismisses the idea that he might marry her.

Bianca is cruelly blamed for the attack on Cassio.

Dubbed as 'Trash' by the mischievious Iago

Iago's misogyny...

Vulgar, coarse language when speaking about women...He turns love to lust and his animal imagery is sometimes grotesque...As Othello falls into further damnation his behaviour and language echo that of Iago...Iagos clearlyt holds complete disregard for women and is determined to encourage others to think the same.

Emilia

Is this Idea of Passive Obedience seen elsewhere?!

Emilia unlike Desdemona is astute and wise when it comes to male and female relationships

'They are all but stomachs and we all but food'

She seems like a headstrong character yet falls complete victim to the workings of her husband.

'My wayward husband woo'd me to steal'

What way is she treated for her obedience?

Iago is only pleasant to his wife when he wants something from her , he is happy to use Emilia to achieve his villainous way and yet does not hesitate to kill her when she becomes a threat to him.

'Villainous Whore'

Consider Desdemona's reaction to Othello's behaviour, Passive? Obedient?

Essentially what is being asked is if Women in society are treated fairly
