In a Disaster, ALL Water Bureau Employees are Essential Personnel.

But it may not be "business as usual." Our work location and type may change, depending on the circumstances.

Managers will give Work Assignments to Employees Required to Report to Work.

for you to survive in your home until basic services are restored.

as close as possible to the exit door.

Include:

  • Utensils
  • Cooking equipment
  • Light-weight food items for portability
  • Keeping camping items together would help in case of need

Adding Emergency Medical Information to Iphone Lockscreen:

1. Open the Apple Health app.

2. Tap on Medical ID in the bottom right corner.

3. Tap Create Medical ID.

4. At the very top, make sure Show When Locked is turned on (to green). Fill in as much information as is relevant to you. Write "None" rather than leaving fields blank.

5. Assign at least one person as your emergency contact person - Save them in Contacts app for the Health app to be able to include it.

6. Hit Done to save.

Keep a CRESCENT WRENCH near - or affix it to - your gas meter

Turn off the utilities only if you suspect the lines are damaged, you suspect a leak or if local officials instruct you to do so.

Options for Disaster Supply Kits:

- Nonperishable food.

- Supply of water (1 gallon of water per person, per day).

- Portable, battery-powered radio or TV, extra batteries.

- Flashlight (or headlamp) and extra batteries.

- First aid kit and manual.

- Sanitation and hygiene items.

- Matches in waterproof container - or firestarter kit.

- Whistle - 3 short blasts = HELP.

- Extra clothing and blankets.

- Kitchen accessories and cooking utensils.

- Photocopies of identification and credit cards.

- Cash and coins.

- Special needs items such as prescriptions, medications, glasses.

- Items for infants, such as formula, diapers, bottles, and pacifiers.

- Tools, pet supplies, a map of the area, items to meet family needs.

  • Make an Evacuation Plan and decide on where to meet - 1 site nearby, and 1 away from home
  • Assemble Emergency Kits.
  • Store enough fresh water for 14 days - 1 gallon per person per day for 14 days.

  • Always keep your car’s gas tank at least half full.
  • Identify an out-of-area contact who can relay messages if local phone systems are down.
