Necessary Items to complete work duties included:

Workplace was definitely busy at all times while I was completing by observation during the work day. This may be due to the many projects that are being done year in and year out for the modernization/construction of school buildings .

Meetings also occurred in the conference room during my visit.

Mapping Observation

While visiting the workplace I was able to categorize different workers by the work space they were in from an individual's office to a cubicle shared by several co-workers. For example the Vice President who ran the floor had their own office space in which was the largest in that space. Joe Fernandez on the other hand had his own office not as large as his Vice President but definitely an office space for the top engineers in which all had offices except the receptionists and other engineers on the floor.

Role of the Structural Engineer is very important in that as a project designer one is responsible to provide construction support for construction management and general contractors during the construction phase of the project I am responsible to provide all the information needed by contractors on building/modernizing the current site.

Obtained the job in 2008. He came across job when he was working as a project manager for construction repair work of Boards of Education's Department of School and a job opening as a designer engineer opened up in NYCSCA and I came interviewed and got the job.

Evaluating existing building structures to design exterior modernization projects which includes exterior masonry, and roofing systems t insure structural and water-tightness. In addition as a Structural Engineer I am responsible to design the structural support for new buildings such as the foundation,columns, beams, walls, and slabs.

• The workplace is an Engineering Office within (NYCSCA)
• Work Attire would include Professional Attire for both women and men since their are representation of the company.

CONCLUSION:

Overall Analysis

FUN FACT: A capital plan department within NYCSCA is responsible to construct five year plans in which ensures that all NYC Department of Education is met every project done.

I learned so many things from not only the work site but of different career paths that are available out there and all I have do is go out and look for it or do an observation just like I have with NYCSCA. Through the project's guidelines in going to investigate a workplace without any bias prior to the project allowed me not to judge the whole organization. On the other hand it allowed me to look into the organization's policies and regulations on how hey are able to complete their Mission Statement.
