TRAINING:
- AFP College- The AFP College has been the training ground for all our recruits. It is a standard AFP requirement for all recruits to live at the AFP College during training.
- ACT police and federal agent recruit training (Federal Police Development Program)- The initial program is approximately 24 weeks live-in at the AFP College in Canberra.

SELECTION:
- Application
- Online testing
- First round short listing- An initial assessment of responses to selection criteria is conducted.
- Second round short listing- Applications progress to the respective business areas for short listing.
- Graduate Assessment Centre
- Merit Pool- Candidates who have been found suitable at the Assessment Centre will be placed into a merit pool. This pool will be used to select the next cohort of graduates and to fill vacancies throughout the next 12 months.

BASIC QUALIFICATION:
- be an Australian citizen
- have completed a Bachelor degree (minimum) at an Australian university/hold a degree that has been recognised by your state/territory government Overseas Qualifications Unit.
- be required to undergo a security clearance
- standard medical clearance and;
- undertake a test for illicit drugs in accordance with the AFP’s Illicit Drug Free Work Force Policy before commencing
