Indigenous people have different perspectives of historical events. The unlikely story of Bennelong and Phillip.

England's solution to their convict problem was to send them to Australia to live. This was known as the first fleet.

Captain Arthur Phillip as worn down by his colony of NSW. They were running out of food, having endless conflicts and were on the brick of starvation. Phillip then returned to London with Bennelong and his relative, Yemmerawanne. The members of Bennelong's clang were horrified

The first fleet arrived in Botany Bay,

The Aboriginal people realised that the European's were there to day and to take over their land. The Eora people taught Phillip a lesson by injuiring him with the punishment spear. Phillip understood & respected the lesson. With justice, Bennelong appleashed the British settlement and governor Phillip invited him to the Governor house. Bennelong then had a special status as the Ambassador to help keep the peaces.

Governor Phillip planned o learn more about the custom and culture of the Aboriginal people. He ordered his armed soldiers to seize Bennelong and Colbee, which were taken to governor house.

A strong relationship was established between Bennelong and governor Phillip. His main project was to teach Bennelong English, so that he becomes a bridge of communication between the British and Aboriginal culture.

Bennelong & Colbee missed their old way of life, freedom & governor Phillip was very upset because the growing relationship wasn't strong enough to hold him back.
