For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good.

let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

Be on guard, so that your hearts will not be weighted down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of life, and that day will not come on you suddenly like a trap.

Now flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.

and may the Lord cause you to increase and abound in love for one another, and for all people, just as we also do for you; so that He may establish your hearts without blame in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all His saints.

Watch over your heart with all diligence,

For from it flow the springs of life.

May the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the steadfastness of Christ.

The eye is the lamp of the body; so then if your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light.

If your eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it from you. It is better for you to enter life with one eye, than to have two eyes and be cast into the fiery hell.

Let your eyes look directly ahead and let your gaze be fixed straight in front of you.

I will set no worthless thing before my eyes.

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.

He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to falsehood and has not sworn deceitfully.

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ...

The night is almost gone, and the day is near. Therefore let us lay aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. Let us behave properly as in the day, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and sensuality, not in strife and jealousy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh in regard to its lusts.

But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

I sought the Lord, and He answered me, and delivered me from all my fears.

And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more...having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

...and do not go on presenting the members of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves to God as those alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.

If you know that He is righteous, you know

that everyone also who practices righteousness is born of Him.

...and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.

If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness.

But flee from these things, you man of God, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness.

...and may be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith...

Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness...

All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have

been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.

I urge you...by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love...

So, as those who have been chosen of God,

holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience...

Beloved, I urge you as aliens and strangers

to abstain from fleshly lusts which

wage war against the soul.

You younger men, likewise, be subject to your elders; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.

As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; because it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy."

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things...therefore, consider the members of your earthly body as dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire and greed which amounts to idolatry...you laid aside the old self with its evil practices and have put on the new self.

You lay aside the old self which is being corrupted in

accordance with the lusts of deceit and that you be

renewed in the spirit of your mind and

put on the new self which is in the likeness

of God has been created in righteousness

and holiness of the truth.

Nevertheless, the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal, “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Everyone who names the name of the Lord is to abstain from wickedness.” Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from these things, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work.

You were bought with a price;

do not become slaves of men.

that our old self was crucified with Him that our body of sin might be done away with that we should no longer be slaves to sin.

But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life.

Flee immorality. Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the immoral man sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.

Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.

By [God's] will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from these things, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work.

For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with gratitude; for it is sanctified by means of the word of God and prayer.

For this is the will of God, your sanctification; that is, that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor...For God has not called us for the purpose of impurity, but in sanctification.

But we should always give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth.

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless.

To those who...are chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with His blood: May grace and peace be yours in the fullest measure.

...the grace that was given me from God, to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles, ministering as a priest the gospel of God, so that my offering of the Gentiles may become acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols.

I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members

as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness, resulting in

further lawlessness, so now present your members as

slaves to righteousness, resulting in sanctification.

Sanctify them in the truth;

Your word is truth.

But now in Christ Jesus you who formerly were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

Listen to me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin: the Lord is with you when you are with Him. And if you seek Him, He will let you find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you.

Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death, in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach...and not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven...

the Law made nothing perfect..and on the other hand there is a bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God.

Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us

to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses

against them, and He has committed to us

the word of reconciliation.

The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth.

But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.

For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace... However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him...for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

Now those who belong to Christ Jesus

have crucified the flesh with its passions

and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us

also walk by the Spirit.

But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.

The one who keeps His commandments

abides in Him, and He in him. We know

by this that He abides in us, by the

Spirit whom He has given us.

Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.

Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them...Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil.

So you shall observe to do just as the Lord your God has commanded you; you shall not turn aside to the right or to the left. You shall walk in all the way which the Lord your God has commanded you, that you may live and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you will possess.

...we were exhorting and encouraging and imploring each one of you as a father would his own children, so that you would walk in a manner worthy of the God who calls you into His own kingdom and glory.

Strive to enter through the narrow door;

for many, I tell you, will seek to enter

and will not be able.

Do not turn to the right nor to

the left; turn your foot from evil.

...the one who says he abides in Him

ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.

If you love Me, you will keep

My commandments.

The one who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. We know by this that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.

If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.

For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome.

And this is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, that you should walk in it.

Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and

make Our abode with him."

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

...we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.

For if the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling those who have been defiled sanctify for the cleansing of the flesh, how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.

For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God...And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.

...for you have been born again not of

seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God.

He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and

His name is called The Word of God.

For ground that drinks the rain which often falls

on it and brings forth vegetation useful to those for

whose sake it is also tilled, receives a blessing from God; but if it yields

thorns and thistles, it is worthless and close to being cursed, and it ends up being burned.

Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God,

and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have

asked Him, and He would have given you living water...but whoever

drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that

I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.”

He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said,

"From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water."

I have hidden your word in my heart that

I might not sin against You.

“Is not My word like fire?” declares the Lord, “and like a hammer which shatters a rock?"

Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

How can a young man keep his way pure?

By living according to your word.

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints...

This question is posed and answered in

Psalm 119:9. How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word.

As that scripture stated, without God's word, living a pure life is impossible. He wants to speak to you through His word. Listen for Him.

Therefore, we must know His word in order to live a pure life. I hope this presentation helps you know that word and aim your heart toward purity. Be blessed.

Living Water.

I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples. Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.
