Some interesting facts

A teacher was teaching her class when the storm started. She noticed it was getting worse and the school house was not safe so she had to get the students out. she tied them together with rope and took them to the nearest house. The day started a warm sunny day and in a short period of time the temperature dropped 18 degrees and the sky darkened. The wind chill was -40. fifty feet of snow fell . The storm started on January 12 and the storm ended the next day and already over 100 people were dead.

Power lines fell and people died because were trapped in their homes. 235 people died many were kids. Over 25 million dollars worth of damage was done.

Water and sunlight caused evaporation which means water turns to water vapor witch causes the cloud to make it snow, sleet, hail, rain, or blizzard.

The Children's blizzard went though Kansas, Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa, and part of Dakota.

A blizzard is a severe snowstorm with 35mph winds and can last for a long period of time. You can also run into a ground blizzard. A ground blizzard is when no snow is falling but the snow already on the ground is blown around by strong winds.
