Apollo sung the guard to sleep, but unfortunately he could not turn Io back into her water spirit form. Once Juno saw her guard was tricked, she decided to punish Io. Juno sent a gadfly to bite and sting her the whole day. Io, still as a cow, swam in her river and out into the sea. She swam to Egypt. Seeing how troubled Io was being away from her river, Juno took pity on Io and turned her back into her river spirit form. Io was grateful and promised to never go near Jupiter ever again.
Jupiter was the king of the Roman gods who ruled the heavens and Earth. Jupiter had two brothers, Pluto ruled the underworld, and Neptune ruled the seas. Jupiter was the boss, liked to interfere with life on Earth, and had an eye for the ladies.
Juno wasn't fooled seeing Jupiter with a cow. "What a beautiful cow," she said, "May I have it as a present. To disguise his lie, Jupiter agreed.

In order to hide himself from his jealous wife, Juno, he turned himself into a huge dark cloud, so that Juno could not see them together. When Juno saw clouds, she knew he was up to no good.
