Rhetoric
- In ancient Greece, speaking in public was central to everyday life.
- Because of that, the Greeks set up institutions that studied the art of speaking.
- Also known as the golden age,
philosophers studied persuasive
techniques such as Ethos,Logos,
and Pathos.
Modern Day impact of rhetoric
- At the time, one of the most popular style of rhetoric is sophistry, or the art of persuasion. Sophistry, today, is known as deceitful reasoning.
