Europeans during the Middle Ages benefited from Islamic works on:

Death Toll
Some estimates for the death toll in the Crusades suggest that up to 3 million people died, this is around 2.3% of the worlds population at this point.
That is equivalent to around 150 million people today.
However, it is important to remember that the Crusades happened overv 200 years.
