Authors' Last Names Capitalized Followed by comma Authors' First Names Initials only Each followed by period Comma before next entry Second through Sixth Authors Listed in the order they appear on the publication Always last name then first initial Actually use the Amersand Sign before the last author. Last Author has no extra punctuation after the First name Initial Date of Publication Year only In Parentheses Period after closing parenthesis Capitalize only first word and any proper nouns If there is a colon (:) capitalize first word after that NOT in quotes NOT in italics End with a period should be italicized all words capitalized ends with a comma also in italics this will usually the larger of the numbers you find not italicized smaller of the volume/issue numbers usually in parentheses separate with a comma pages the text was on use a dash to separate end with a period If you have text on a second (or third, or fourth) line, make sure it is indented!
