What are we looking for? Academics Extra Curricular Institutional Match Averages Keep in mind, at Chapman we perform a 'holistic' read on each and every file. If you are higher than these averages, do not be over confident. If you are under these averages do not be discouraged. Average GPA Average SAT 3.72 1850 But What Does That Mean? We understand that a GPA does not mean much without examining the curriculum that makes it up, and the school that it is coming from. We work with IB, AP, and Dual Credit programs as well as other types of accelerated tracks. Our average GPA is an academic calculation from Sophomore and Junior year only. It is weighted up to 8 credits in those two years. In other words, we know what curriculum your school offers, and how that relates to what curriculum you self selected. In the fall, we travel to 'our high schools.' In many cases, we have visited your high school personally and met members of your college advising staff. Depending on the scores you achieve on your IB, or AP tests, we can bring those credits into Chapman. But What Does That Mean? We do 'super score' the SAT score. 500 - 650 - 590 = 1740 610 - 650 - 520 = 1780 610 - 650 - 590 = 1850 #1 #2 CU Average ACT 27 ...so give us all of your scores. :-) Recommended Curriculum 4 years of English 4 years of Social Sciences 3-4 years of Natural Sciences (1-2 lab courses) 3-4 years of Math 3-4 years of Foreign Language General Major Preparation If you have selected a major, it would be a good idea to demonstrate proficiency in that area.
