What is typography?

It's more than just a font.

Typography is an evolution.

... and it continues to evolve.

a counter is the enclosed, or partially enclosed, area of a letterform.

a descender is the part of the letterform that extends below the baseline.

an ascender is the part of the letterform that extends above the x-height.

a serif is the small strokes at the end of the main strokes of a letterforms

the baseline is the line where the body of letters rest.

the cap height is the height of the capital letters.

the point size is the area from the lowest descender of any letter to the highest point of any letter in a single typeface.

It all started in 1440 with Gutenberg's invention of the letterpress and
