for only thus will he fully understand the world in which he lives.
10th Buraq Space Camp
19th to 31th December 2013, Islamabad, Pakistan
Buraq Planetary Society is the first and foremost organization in Pakistan completely dedicated to giving the next generation of Pakistan a chance to experience new concepts and ideas in an open and dynamic environment.
Buraq Planetary Society is now run with the help its graduate Buraqians, creating a self-supporting hierarchy of individuals who understand the Buraq experience firsthand.
Buraq's first accomplishment was that of immediately creating international recognition by sending three of its members to the Uzbekistan Space Camp.
In 1994, Buraq held its first local Space Camp in Murree and has held nine camps since then.
The brainchild of an Eisenhower Fellow, Mr. Shahid Mahmud, and a Stanford Graduate, Mr. Sameer Qureshi, Buraq came into existence in 1993.
To gather students from all over the country who share a common interest in space, youth empowerment & awakening.
To provide Pakistani youth a unique platform away from schools and textbooks to get a taste of experiential learning.
To provide the Pakistani youth with a framework for making strategic visions (plans) for themselves and for Pakistan.
To refine interpersonal skills - such as teamwork, self-confidence and communication.
To strengthen powers of reasoning, problem solving, and enhance leadership skills.
To provide students an opportunity to excel in making presentations and expressing themselves individually and as a group.
To spread awareness and gain knowledge and understanding of the significance of past, present, and future space exploration.
Joining a Buraq Space Camp requires absolutely no fee.
All boarding, lodging, transport, supply of study material access to speakers during the camp is provided free of charge.
Buraq Space Camps are a CSR project of Interactive Group of Companies.
How can I become a member?
It's really easy!
Applicants must be in the 14-16 age group.
Applicants must have the consent of their parents and principal of the educational institution where they are studying.
Applicants should be willing to stay away from home in a boot camp environment in Islamabad.

A ten day camp held in Islamabad where the best and brightest students in Pakistan interact with the best and brightest leaders in academia, science and technology and other significant fields.
Buraq is an unforgettable experience for a precious and prestigious few.
Cadets are divided into groups of four called Squads. Squads compete for the final final prize throughout the course of the camp.
