Make your screening awesome
Offer to attend screening for cost of travel.  Encourage local groups to get a sponsor for this purpose.
Find local people in the area who could do a Q&A about themes in the film
Do a Skype/iChat Q&A
Find a business in the area who will take ticket stubs of your movie in exchange for a good or service, such as a free drink at a local bar or cafe
Find good places to hang out near the screening and coordinate a meetup before or after the screening
Create special content just for screenings
