Engineering Presentation
Transcript: Aerospace engineering is going to become more common over the next ten years, due to the massive surge in technology we are facing. In the next ten years, space travel and air travel are going to be one of the biggest forms of transportation, and the potential of the aerospace field is growing to an enormous level. In the future, there will be more jobs in aerospace due to the large potential that the world has over space, the final frontier. Who knows? In the next ten years, we might have something like this flying about in our orbit: Agricultural Engineering Chemical Engineering Petroleum Engineering Transport Engineering Aerospace Engineering Green engineering is the process and design of products that conserve natural resources, and impact the natural environment as little as possible. Green engineering pertains to literally all types of engineering, for making the world a greener place is one of the most valued ideals in the engineering community. Citations Outlook in the Next 10 Years: Notable Achievements A variety of fields interest me, including: *Aerospace Engineering* Biomolecular Engineering Chemical Engineering Civil Engineering Computer Engineering Nano Engineering Engineering is the art of solving problems, innovation, and design compiled together to improve our lives. Engineers help solve the many problems we have in our imperfect world to make our world a better place. Engineering and science are similar, but very different at the same time. Scientists seek to create theories and to understand the true core value of nature, while an engineer uses the theories and laws to create designs that don't exist in nature. photo credit Nasa / Goddard Space Flight Center / Reto Stöckli Interesting Engineering Fields Engineers What is engineering? History Aerospace engineers are engineers who work on the design, construction, and science of aircraft and spacecraft. Aerospace engineers are responsible for the main type of international transportation we have today: the plane. Aerospace engineers must understand the concepts of atmospheric pressure, temperature, and physics while creating a craft and must efficiently apply this to their work. What is green engineering? There are many famous engineers in the field of aerospace engineering, such as: Sir George Cayley, one of the first people to invent the glider. Otto Lilenthal, also one the first to invent the glider. Orville and Wilbur Wright, the first inventors of the airplane. Paul Cornu, the first to invent the helicopter Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon and an aerospace engineer for Apollo 11. Aerospace engineering is a relatively new form of engineering, the plane only having been invented a little more than 100 years ago. In 1800s, gliders made an appearance, in which many men such as Sir George Cayley and Otto Lilenthal created and attempted several glider flights. In 1903, the Wright brothers created a working airplane, which was launched in Kitty Hawk, NC. In 1910, the military began creating biplanes and other aircraft which made an appearance in WWI. In Feburary 1958, the term Aerospace engineering came into play due to the creation of NASA, the National Aeronatuics and Space Administration. The first American satellite was also launched into space in response the the Soviets. In 1969, the first human-manned lunar landing was made. In 1998, the International Space station was launched. It was the first powered, heavier-than-air machine to achieve controlled, sustained flight with a pilot aboard. In 1907, Paul Cornu made his debut with the first helicopter. It was the first manned flying machine to have risen from the ground using rotating wings instead of fixed wings. In 1969, Apollo 11 was launched by NASA. It was the first space flight to ever land a man on the Moon. In 1998, the International Space Station was launched into space, being the longest habited space station of all time.
