Development Goal of HTH
Community
Development First... What does this look like
for a Sister Church? HTH's goal:

transform people & communities for Christ. Next Steps
& Process Community Developement Committee the importance of Understanding Poverty. ABCD Addressing the poverty of Hondurans & North Americans in an effort to restore the relationships that God intended. HTH Founder, Charlie Smith, intention was to tranform the tiny village of Canchias into a place that was economically and spiritually a place that people wanted to live. North American
Leadership Asset Based Community Development What is right with you? What gifts has God given you that you can use
to improve your life and that of your neighbors? How can the individuals & organizations in
your community work together to improve your community? What gifts do you have? He said, "If we can do it there (Canchias), we can do it anywhere!" These lead to other
natural steps: A community that people are attracted to likely includes: A Biblical Framework of Poverty God created us to be relational beings. 1. Relationship with God 2. Relationship with self 3. Relationship with others 4. Relationship with the rest of creation The fall of Adam & Eve damaged and distored all four types of relationships. These 4 relationships are the building blocks for all human activity. The effects are now manifested in the economic, social, religious and political systems. Bryant Myers states that "Poverty is the result of relationships that do not work, that are not just, that are not for life, that are not harmonious or enjoyable. Poverty is the absense of shalom in all its meaning. Then who is poor? Every human being is poor in the sense of not experiencing these 4 relationships in the way God intended. HTH's aka: Model Village A vision to become a catalyst for Regional
development, sharing, and spreading Christian community. Access to: quality food and clean water, effective educational system, community health care. Opportunity for parents to provide for their families. A vibrant church leadership where people are
won for the Kingdom and daily living Christ's
call to care for the less fortunate and those in need. A feeling of happiness, hope, and safety. Why? Before we can try to bring people out of poverty, we need to agree on what poverty is... Model Christian Community as described in the Bible Acts 2:44-45
All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. A community that gives of its assets, is a community that is following the example of the Apostle Peter and the Fellowship of Believers in Acts and is a place that people will want to live. Acts 4:32-34a
"All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had. With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all that there were no needy persons among them." (outside the circle) Manufacturing Micro-Lending Agriculture Community Level Foundational Needs Growth ... of the Kingdom is the most important
aspect of Community Development. HTH's holistic nature will help in a variety of ways, but we stress that the Spiritual component needs to guide all decisions. Our Role: to come alongside with: 1. prayer 2. ideas 3. labor 4. financial help How can you accomplish this without causing damage? created to help guide projects and answer your questions.
