in winter sweaters are common in many homes due to lack of heating. During the summer shorts and a T-shirt are for both men and women. Many kids dress just like their parents.

Sydney and Melbourne are home to almost a third of the total population. Most homes have only one floor, two-floored houses are considered luxuries. The number of people over 65 is expected to double during the next few decades.

Australia's national

For the Aboriginal Australians their family helps them to put their tooth inside the shoot of a pandanus plant so that when the pandanus grows into a tree, their tooth will grow too.  They serve plum pudding on Christmas with a coin, a ring, or a thimble inside and whoever finds the item will have wealth, marriage or spinsterhood in the next year.
Most school days begin at about 9:00 a.m. and run until 3:00 or 3:30, Monday through Friday. Children are required to attend school in Australia until age 15. Preschool, which begins at age 3, is not obligatory unlike Elementary and Middle School which is. Children love to pass their free time outside and play sports, specially swimming since most of the population lives in the coast.

The national sport Australian-rules football, is a combination of rugby and soccer  Cricket is also a popular national sport, many children like to play Kanga Cricket which is basically cricket using plastic equipment. NetBall is the most popular women's sport in Australia. With children, soccer is popular, but they switch over to Rugby or Australian Rules football around the age 7 or 8

Socializing
Greetings are usually accomplished with a handshake - especially between males and  if you have not seen each other in more than a few weeks. The most popular way to socialize is at a pub or club. Usually this involves beer and often gambling (poker machines are at most clubs and many pubs).
The law provides for freedom of religion, and the Government generally respects this right in practice.

Family Structure
