Have you worked in an on campus job before? If so, you will only need to complete steps 1 & 2. Students who have not worked on campus before will need to complete all steps before they're authorized to work and receive payment.
Step 3: The I9 Form
All student employees are required to turn in two very important federal documents: the I9 and W4 forms. The I9 form verifies your eligibility to work in the United States. This form requires two instances of supporting documentation and although students may use any approved combination of documentation, most students use a photo ID such as a driver's license and a social security card. The original documents must be presented to the Office of Student Financial Planning before you can begin working.
STEP 1: THE STUDENT EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION
The Student Employment Authorization Form must be completed at the time you're hired and be signed by your supervisor. This is required for both returning and brand new student employees. This form is often provided to you by your employer, but you can also find it in our office and at our website.

STEP 4: THE W4 FORM
The W4 form is another federally required form that must be completed before you can begin working. The W4 form allows Stetson to withhold the correct amount of taxes from your monthly paycheck. Social Security Cards
Stetson University Human Resources requires a copy of the original social security card be on file before issuing payment for any employee. While this is unrelated to the I9 form requirements, most students chose to use their social security documents for the I9 to satisfy both requirements and ensure timely payment for services.
STEP 2: LEARNING OUTCOMES
New in 2013, every student must participate in the learning outcomes initiative by completing pre and post employment assessments. More Information is available in the Learning Outcomes Section of the Student Employment Website.
The preceding steps outlined the requirements to begin working that have been established by Stetson University. Please check with your new supervisor about any additional requirements they have established for employment in their department.
