Transcript of Production Pitch

Our trailer How it will appeal to target audience How it is conventional We feel our film will be appropriate for Ghost House Pictures as our plot is very similar to some of your existing films such as The Grudge and its sequel, The Grudge 2.

It also follows conventional elements such as focusing on the eyes, fast paced editing, dramatic music and sound effects, low key lighting to ensure the genre is clear to the audience. From the research we carried out, to aim our film at teenagers of both genders aged between 14 and 19 as they watched the films most frequently.
As the age range our target audience fit into enjoys horror-thriller films the most, it should appeal to them.
From the focus group we carried out, the majority said “it has been done before, to typical and too conventional, too predicable.” As they felt that it was very similar to existing horror-thriller films, we decided to create a plot which has conventions as well as a twist to the story to keep the audience intrigued. Our trailer is about a girl (Mai) who accidentally finds the scene of a murder, from the shock and panic she decides to run away leaving the body to remain undiscovered for weeks. Ever since that day, Mai experiences reoccurring dreams of the murder within her own perspective but believes it is only fragments of her own imagination but the proof remains. Bruises appear on her wrists and neck like it would have on someone who was hanged. Mai carelessly exposed her bruising to someone on the street and later finds out about the death of the stranger, she realises that anyone who becomes involved in her secret even by the smallest of things will be the next victim. From her suppressed emotions and knowledge of the crime scene, she becomes on the verge of madness, she believes she is hallucinating the dead girl haunting her when in actual fact she is trying to make Mai do the right thing and give the information she knows to the right people.
