  • 00:00 - 00:02

moms and dads, Dr Scott Haggerty.

  • 00:02 - 00:05

Here I want to take a few minutes and talk a little bit about 80 HD because

  • 00:05 - 00:08

one of the things have realised is that there are many things that are not true,

  • 00:08 - 00:10

that parents are told about 80 HD.

  • 00:10 - 00:12

So let's talk about a few of those facts.

  • 00:13 - 00:15

Number 1 80 HD is not genetic.

  • 00:16 - 00:18

The brain can be changed without drugs,

  • 00:19 - 00:24

and most 80 HD issues relate to pregnancy, stress and birth process.

  • 00:24 - 00:25

    That's right.

  • 00:25 - 00:29

Many parents have never been told this, but there's very clear science,

  • 00:29 - 00:32

a lot of evidence that shows that this is really the

  • 00:32 - 00:35

starting point for the vast majority of cases of a D.

  • 00:35 - 00:37

    H. D. We can dig into that quite a bit more.

  • 00:37 - 00:41

Let's talk about a few more things with us, because when we look at this right,

  • 00:41 - 00:43

there's common factors that we see that relate to the

  • 00:43 - 00:44

vast majority of kids that struggle with a D.

  • 00:44 - 00:45

    H. D.

  • 00:45 - 00:49

Typically, there was a stressful pregnancy, along with a stressful birth process,

  • 00:49 - 00:54

oftentimes accompanied by interventions, things like, uh, vacuum extractions,

  • 00:54 - 00:58

things like Caesareans, things like epidurals and potatoes and peas, economies,

  • 00:58 - 01:02

cord wrapped positioning issues things along that lines that led

  • 01:02 - 01:04

to then stress on the baby's nervous system very,

  • 01:04 - 01:05

    very early on.

  • 01:05 - 01:07

    And that stress

  • 01:07 - 01:08

    then leaves

  • 01:08 - 01:09

    little nuggets.

  • 01:09 - 01:11

That helps you to know what was going on right,

  • 01:11 - 01:12

And we know this because we've been doing

  • 01:12 - 01:14

these clinical case histories for a long time.

  • 01:14 - 01:15

    There's these early signs.

  • 01:15 - 01:19

After the child is born, you start to see it's things like colic, constipation,

  • 01:19 - 01:24

poor sleep habits, latch issues, emotional issues, all kinds of things.

  • 01:24 - 01:27

By the time they're hitting preschool, these things are beginning to evolve.

  • 01:27 - 01:29

Are starting to see other signs of stress

  • 01:29 - 01:31

that are diving deeper into the nervous system,

  • 01:31 - 01:35

where we start to see issues with potentially anxiety meltdowns, sensory issues,

  • 01:36 - 01:37

    hyperactivity, impulsivity.

  • 01:38 - 01:40

These are all signs that the nervous system is stuck in

  • 01:40 - 01:43

a state of fight or flight instead of being calm,

  • 01:43 - 01:45

reacting to sensory input the way that it's supposed to.

  • 01:45 - 01:47

When a child's nervous system is going through this,

  • 01:47 - 01:50

it makes it darn near impossible for them to be able to regulate themselves

  • 01:50 - 01:53

and pay attention the way that you would want them to in school environment.

  • 01:54 - 01:55

By the time they're getting into elementary school,

  • 01:55 - 01:58

it's very noticeable the focus and attention issues.

  • 01:58 - 02:01

They're starting to show a lot of signs of impulsivity, meltdowns,

  • 02:01 - 02:05

potentially a lot of sensory issues and, of course, many, many more things.

  • 02:05 - 02:06

    So moms and dads,

  • 02:06 - 02:10

we've been taking care of kids with a D H D symptoms for a very long time,

  • 02:10 - 02:12

and here's some of the things that we use,

  • 02:12 - 02:15

so we use paediatric chiropractic. And why is this valuable?

  • 02:15 - 02:20

Because there is a nerve called the vagus nerve, which regulates the cortex,

  • 02:20 - 02:23

the part of the brain up here that regulates all executive function.

  • 02:23 - 02:25

When we adjust the spinal column,

  • 02:25 - 02:28

it sends messages up to the prefrontal cortex

  • 02:28 - 02:30

that turns on the executive function centres.

  • 02:30 - 02:32

There's some great research I'm going to be diving into

  • 02:32 - 02:33

in a workshop that we're gonna be doing soon.

  • 02:33 - 02:35

We're going to talk about this in more depth

  • 02:35 - 02:38

because we get lots of questions from parents about why the kids get

  • 02:38 - 02:41

adjusted in our office and see so many improvements with a D.

  • 02:41 - 02:45

H D issues, sensory issues, emotional issues so on and so forth.

  • 02:45 - 02:47

So we're going to dive deep into into this

  • 02:47 - 02:49

and answer questions that many of you have had

  • 02:50 - 02:52

There's also things like brain laser therapy.

  • 02:52 - 02:56

Brain laser therapy is a new novel treatment that is incredibly safe and effective.

  • 02:56 - 02:57

    But it's awesome.

  • 02:57 - 02:59

It really gets some great results because we're able to

  • 02:59 - 03:02

actually target specific areas of the brain to calm it.

  • 03:02 - 03:04

It improves the executive function centres.

  • 03:04 - 03:06

We can also target the emotional centres and

  • 03:06 - 03:08

stimulate the vagus nerve using the laser.

  • 03:08 - 03:11

We also like to recommend apps like the brain tap app. It's a great app.

  • 03:11 - 03:13

If you've never seen it, it's on iTunes.

  • 03:13 - 03:15

If you want more information about it, we can also give you information.

  • 03:15 - 03:20

But it also uses this technology where it uses beats, tones,

  • 03:20 - 03:23

visualisations and meditations to calm the brain,

  • 03:23 - 03:27

balance the brain and re trains the brain waves to be in better balance.

  • 03:27 - 03:30

We also focus heavy on nutrition and anti inflammatory nutrition has

  • 03:30 - 03:34

been shown to be incredibly effective at decreasing brain inflammation.

  • 03:35 - 03:38

Decreasing brain inflammation equals a calmer brain.

  • 03:38 - 03:42

The more inflamed a child's brain is, the more foggy their brain is going to be,

  • 03:42 - 03:44

the more difficult it is for them to be calm because they're nervous.

  • 03:44 - 03:48

System wasn't high alert because it's chemical toxins that are insulting them.

  • 03:48 - 03:50

Now, moms and dads, I know we went through quite a bit,

  • 03:50 - 03:53

but I want to give you an opportunity to come and learn more about this,

  • 03:53 - 03:55

because if you have a child that struggle with a d.

  • 03:55 - 03:58

    H d, we're hosting an online workshop

  • 03:58 - 04:01

    that's going to be called the Perfect Storm. It's a perfect storm of a D H D.

  • 04:01 - 04:05

And it's a free online class for parents were gonna be hosting in February 16th,

  • 04:05 - 04:08

2022 at six p.m. You can see the link below.

  • 04:08 - 04:10

It's going to be through a Facebook event page.

  • 04:10 - 04:13

We're gonna be doing everything on Zoom so you guys can get on there,

  • 04:13 - 04:14

    asked me questions.

  • 04:14 - 04:15

    We'll go through.

  • 04:15 - 04:18

Science will go through research through case studies so you

  • 04:18 - 04:20

can see the big picture of why this works.

  • 04:20 - 04:24

The way that it does helps so many kids here in our community,

  • 04:24 - 04:27

and also so you can get the hope, answers and action steps that you need.

  • 04:27 - 04:30

Help your child. All right, guys, I look forward to seeing you there.

  • 04:30 - 04:32

Take a look for the link below.

  • 04:32 - 04:34
