Mhm. Hello, everybody.
- 00:03 - 00:05
My name is Alyssa, and this is my photo essay.
- 00:06 - 00:09
And basically what I'm going to be presenting on is
- 00:10 - 00:13
how a divorce at a young age impacted a man's
- 00:13 - 00:19
life. Such as, like his relationships, his life in general,
- 00:20 - 00:24
his mental state and just everything like that.
- 00:25 - 00:30
So starting out, they were a pretty big, happy family.
- 00:30 - 00:32
I mean, it was him and his sister and his
- 00:33 - 00:35
mom and dad, and they were just your normal, happy
- 00:35 - 00:41
family. Yeah, but then at the age of 11, his
- 00:42 - 00:43
mom and dad got a divorce.
- 00:45 - 00:51
Yeah, and it was really hard on him, and it
- 00:52 - 00:57
essentially made him sad because he really didn't know what
- 00:57 - 01:01
was going on, because he was 11 and he was
- 01:01 - 01:04
young. But his mom and dad did let them know
- 01:05 - 01:07
that it wasn't their fault, But he still didn't understand
- 01:09 - 01:10
why it was happening.
- 01:12 - 01:15
Yeah, but he essentially had to stay with his dad,
- 01:16 - 01:20
and they started to have a really good relationship with
- 01:20 - 01:20
each other.
- 01:21 - 01:27
But in terms of that, he had been disconnected from
- 01:27 - 01:29
his mom and him and his mom had a broken
- 01:29 - 01:33
relationship, and he never really got to see his mom
- 01:33 - 01:39
or talked to her, and in terms of not having
- 01:39 - 01:43
a mom and dad figure from the age of 11,
- 01:44 - 01:49
he really started to have trust issues with significant others
- 01:49 - 01:56
and their relationships because he was always afraid that they
- 01:57 - 02:00
would leave or it just wouldn't turn out.
- 02:02 - 02:06
But to overcome all of that stress with the divorce
- 02:06 - 02:11
while he was in school, he he played football and
- 02:12 - 02:13
he also played wrestling.
- 02:13 - 02:16
He just played a lot of sports through school to
- 02:16 - 02:20
help him get through the divorce and help keep his
- 02:20 - 02:21
mind occupied.
- 02:22 - 02:26
But then they came a time where he had to
- 02:26 - 02:31
drop out of school because he had to help his
- 02:32 - 02:35
dad around the house and get jobs because his dad
- 02:35 - 02:38
had foot surgery and he was out of work.
- 02:38 - 02:43
So he was essentially the only one around that could
- 02:45 - 02:48
help get a job.
- 02:49 - 02:52
So by the by the time he was 16, he
- 02:52 - 02:54
had to drop out of school and helped him get
- 02:54 - 02:55
a job and help around the house.
- 02:56 - 03:00
And with that, it became a lot of stress for
- 03:00 - 03:11
him because he always had this weight of, um, yeah,
- 03:12 - 03:14
you always had this weight of.
- 03:16 - 03:19
He had to make sure the family was okay and
- 03:19 - 03:21
it was and that they depended on him.
- 03:21 - 03:26
And if he didn't do it, then he felt like
- 03:26 - 03:27
he failed them.
- 03:29 - 03:34
But essentially, he did whatever it took to help his
- 03:34 - 03:36
family and make sure they were okay.
- 03:37 - 03:42
And he, in turn, came to terms with himself of
- 03:43 - 03:47
that. There's really nothing he can do to change what
- 03:47 - 03:48
happened in the past.
- 03:49 - 03:52
So essentially, he came over that.
- 03:52 - 03:56
And he now has a good relationship with his mom.
- 03:56 - 04:01
They are rekindling their relationship, and and they are doing
- 04:02 - 04:02
really good.
- 04:04 - 04:07
And in turn that and that makes him happy because
- 04:07 - 04:09
he's always wanted a relationship with his mom.
- 04:09 - 04:11
So now he gets to have that.
- 04:12 - 04:18
And for this, basically whatever obstacle you are going through,
- 04:19 - 04:21
you can always find a way to overcome it like
- 04:21 - 04:25
he did so never give up.
- 04:28 - 04:31
Um, So my discussion question is what chapter of the
- 04:31 - 04:35
book that I present on And if you know what
- 04:36 - 04:39
chapter? How did you know what chapter I presented on?
- 04:40 - 04:43
Thank you for listening and watching my presentation.
- 04:45 - 04:46
I hope you have a great day
