  • 00:00 - 00:02

    Hi, I'm Bianca logger.

  • 00:02 - 00:04

I'm the president of Social Intelligence and

  • 00:04 - 00:06

I'm also a linkedin learning instructor.

  • 00:06 - 00:08

I have a few courses on linkedin learning um that

  • 00:08 - 00:11

talk about remote work and talk about presentation skills.

  • 00:11 - 00:15

So I'm here today to share my very top tip from my popular course.

  • 00:15 - 00:16

    How to stand out remotely.

  • 00:16 - 00:18

You can find how to stand out

  • 00:18 - 00:22

remotely within linkedin learning's Pathfinder for hybrid work

  • 00:22 - 00:23

    today on Crazy,

  • 00:23 - 00:26

we're here to provide little tips and tricks

  • 00:26 - 00:29

on communication and collaboration and hybrid meetings.

  • 00:30 - 00:35

So one of my very favorite hybrid work tips tools etcetera

  • 00:35 - 00:40

is a digitized to do list. This really helps you stay organized.

  • 00:40 - 00:43

It's really paramount for me when I'm preparing for meetings or even

  • 00:43 - 00:46

during the meeting if I need to drop some notes down.

  • 00:46 - 00:49

So one of my favorite things to tell people is to

  • 00:49 - 00:51

make sure you find an app that works for you.

  • 00:51 - 00:55

Some of the key features I think are important are

  • 00:55 - 00:57

ones that you can sink to from device device,

  • 00:57 - 00:59

so something that's on the cloud,

  • 00:59 - 01:03

something that you can access within a browser, your laptop, your mobile phone,

  • 01:03 - 01:05

    tablet, whatever you are.

  • 01:05 - 01:07

Um as we know in hybrid work environments,

  • 01:07 - 01:09

sometimes you're jumping from here there and everywhere.

  • 01:09 - 01:11

So you need to be able to have that thing with you

  • 01:11 - 01:14

all the time and not just lug around a big old notebook,

  • 01:14 - 01:17

like we've all probably done in the past,

  • 01:17 - 01:22

make sure that your app has some bliss preferably folders where you can organize

  • 01:22 - 01:26

things by projects or um departments or whatever it is that you're running.

  • 01:26 - 01:29

You need to kind of organize um what your lists are all about.

  • 01:29 - 01:33

Uh deadline features are really helpful, especially if it sinks to your calendar.

  • 01:33 - 01:37

That way you can make sure you stay on task and kind of have an organized

  • 01:37 - 01:41

way to know what you need before a meeting to know what you need to prep for

  • 01:41 - 01:45

a meeting or to know what you need maybe when you're going to be in person

  • 01:45 - 01:50

and you need to bring some stuff to a meeting versus when you're doing it remotely.

  • 01:50 - 01:54

My favorite app is google tasks. I also used to do cloud.

  • 01:54 - 01:56

I use that actually from my home kind of personal stuff.

  • 01:56 - 01:58

I collaborate with my husband on that.

  • 01:58 - 02:01

One kind of coordinating kids schedules and things like that.

  • 02:01 - 02:03

Um other ones I've used in the past are a little more elaborate,

  • 02:03 - 02:06

especially for projects or Evernote dump Odio.

  • 02:06 - 02:12

Um one key key part of digitizing your to do list especially in a hybrid environment.

  • 02:12 - 02:13

    This is super important.

  • 02:13 - 02:19

Make sure that you have your company department team and individual goals in there.

  • 02:19 - 02:23

Make sure you just keep that in there constantly. So you have visibility to it.

  • 02:23 - 02:25

You can access it at any time

  • 02:25 - 02:30

and it's a constant reminder for you to stay on task with what those goals are,

  • 02:30 - 02:33

especially with hybrid work and remote work.

  • 02:33 - 02:38

We can really lose focus on how we connect to the bigger picture of the company

  • 02:38 - 02:41

and this can especially kind of slip through

  • 02:41 - 02:42

the wayside when you're just sort of focused

  • 02:42 - 02:45

on your work and you get into the weeds of your day to day tasks,

  • 02:45 - 02:50

make sure you have constant reminders of how those tasks feed into those bigger,

  • 02:50 - 02:51

    larger goals.

  • 02:51 - 02:54

This is also really good tool for you to prepare

  • 02:54 - 02:57

for meetings with your manager or meetings with larger teams

  • 02:58 - 03:01

because what you're trying to advocate for yourself and career

  • 03:01 - 03:04

growth always is how you're contributing to the bigger picture.

  • 03:04 - 03:07

So very important and very vital and just a really great

  • 03:07 - 03:10

easy way for you to always keep those goals in sight.

  • 03:10 - 03:15

Um last but certainly not least make sure that this app provides some visibility.

  • 03:15 - 03:17

So if you are the manager,

  • 03:17 - 03:20

this is nice because you can share your list and maybe delegate some tasks,

  • 03:21 - 03:25

um you can share with your team what you're working on, what's important to you,

  • 03:25 - 03:28

anytime that you're in a hybrid work environment.

  • 03:28 - 03:30

Um you want to make sure that you're constantly communicating,

  • 03:30 - 03:33

especially when you're in the remote part of the work.

  • 03:33 - 03:37

Um and you're sort of away from that physical visibility.

  • 03:37 - 03:39

You want to make sure that people have a

  • 03:39 - 03:42

little bit of insight into what you're working on.

  • 03:42 - 03:43

    It can help with

  • 03:43 - 03:46

asking for help. And it can also help with just

  • 03:47 - 03:50

showing and proving the advocacy again,

  • 03:50 - 03:53

um for the value that you're bringing to the team and to the company.

  • 03:53 - 03:56

Um, so that's it for me, really quick tip tip.

  • 03:56 - 03:59
