오디오 자막

  • 00:00 - 00:05

Buffington one. First off, I apologize for my voice. It's a little bit off right now.

  • 00:05 - 00:10

I am from Collins Mississippi, but I've lived in Jackson since 2006.

  • 00:10 - 00:15

My educational background started in Collins, I went to Collins High School.

  • 00:15 - 00:19

I got my high school diploma from there in 2002.

  • 00:19 - 00:26

From 2002-2004 I went to Jones County Junior College and got my associates degree.

  • 00:26 - 00:32

Then from 2004-2006 I went to MC and got my bachelor's degree from there.

  • 00:33 - 00:36

    In 2008 I got my U. S. P. T. A.

  • 00:36 - 00:41

Certification and that's basically a tennis teaching

  • 00:41 - 00:46

certification that is highly recognized in the United States.

  • 00:48 - 00:54

So coming right out of college I started teaching tennis and taught for nine years.

  • 00:54 - 00:59

Seven years of those at Castlewoods Country Club in Brandon Mississippi.

  • 00:59 - 01:07

Then in 2016 the Jones job opened up. The previous coach of

  • 01:07 - 01:12

17 years who was also my coach when I was there 02-04.

  • 01:12 - 01:15

got promoted to dean of student affairs so it

  • 01:15 - 01:20

opened up the head tennis position there so I took it.

  • 01:20 - 01:23

I've been working there for six years,

  • 01:23 - 01:28

They had really successful programs when I came in. The women's team

  • 01:28 - 01:31

had been very successful winning the

  • 01:31 - 01:34

conference championship about every three years.

  • 01:35 - 01:41

But the men's team has hadn't won a championship since 1985.

  • 01:41 - 01:45

So the women's program I think we've kind of continued that trend.

  • 01:45 - 01:49

We're actually on a 50 match JUCO win streak

  • 01:49 - 01:53

and the men's team has been a lot better the previous three years,

  • 01:53 - 01:55

    we've been first or second

  • 01:55 - 01:58

every year. So, on the right track there also,

  • 01:59 - 02:06

family wise, I have a wife and two Children, a three year old and a one year old.

  • 02:06 - 02:12

I completely understand when people say that kids,

  • 02:12 - 02:14

can be completely different coming from the same

  • 02:14 - 02:17

two people. that is without a doubt correct.

  • 02:18 - 02:24

Hobby wise, I enjoy spending time with them, we'll go on bike rides

  • 02:24 - 02:26

which we got a little carrier for them,

  • 02:26 - 02:29

Obviously the one year olds not treading around on a bike.

  • 02:29 - 02:34

we also like going on walks, going to the park.

  • 02:34 - 02:38

My three year old likes working outside doing whatever, digging around.

  • 02:38 - 02:40

He'll help me with little projects, things like that,

  • 02:40 - 02:43

which is another little hobby I like to do is

  • 02:43 - 02:47

projects around the house, whether it's inside or outside.

  • 02:47 - 02:50

I also do like to play tennis

  • 02:51 - 02:56

but don't have a lot of time just with the family life right now,

  • 02:56 - 03:00

I did play a good bit before them.

  • 03:02 - 03:05

but that's pretty much the hobbies

  • 03:05 - 03:08

as far as the Master's degree

  • 03:08 - 03:11

and while I'm in this program

  • 03:11 - 03:15

I'm very pleased and happy with the position I'm at right now,

  • 03:15 - 03:21

but years down the road may want to get into athletic administration,

  • 03:21 - 03:25

so I decided to go back to school and get my master's degree.

  • 03:25 - 03:26

So that's why I'm in this program

  • 03:28 - 03:30

I really looking forward to learning a little bit more about

  • 03:30 - 03:34

the recreation side of things in this class and more

  • 03:34 - 03:36

    future communications with y'all

  • 03:36 - 03:38

anyway. that's me, Y'all have a good one.
