Good evening.
- 00:02 - 00:04
I'm David Lengths, and this is the video recording for
- 00:04 - 00:05
my personal SWAT analysis presentation.
- 00:07 - 00:08
To understand why so analysis.
- 00:09 - 00:10
You must first understand my goals and plans.
- 00:11 - 00:13
Over the past few years, I've been learning the processes
- 00:13 - 00:15
and techniques behind various types of glasswork.
- 00:16 - 00:18
Over the past year alone, I've begun making glass of
- 00:18 - 00:20
my garage, and this has allowed me to better develop
- 00:20 - 00:20
my skills.
- 00:21 - 00:23
My main goals for my glass art referred to sustain
- 00:24 - 00:26
itself financially and for me to have the ability to
- 00:26 - 00:28
create whatever I want to do.
- 00:28 - 00:30
This, I plan to begin by seeking out local opportunities
- 00:31 - 00:35
to improve my skills and grows glassblower and also just
- 00:35 - 00:37
market and sell my work more effectively by building up
- 00:37 - 00:39
greater stocks in my work and selling at a wholesale
- 00:39 - 00:44
prices or even in a market setting strengths that identified
- 00:44 - 00:46
through taking the self assessments is that I'm goal oriented
- 00:47 - 00:50
based on my high score motivating to deliver the vision
- 00:50 - 00:51
on the leadership self assessment.
- 00:52 - 00:55
I also learned from the multiple intelligence else assessment that
- 00:56 - 00:58
I am high scoring and the logical visual and kinesthetic
- 00:59 - 01:02
intelligence sees these contribute to my high attention to detail
- 01:04 - 01:07
my strength will create opportunities first by making it easy
- 01:08 - 01:10
for me to effectively communicate my visions to others, because
- 01:10 - 01:12
I have a very clear idea in my head of
- 01:12 - 01:13
what I want next.
- 01:14 - 01:16
They will and already do help me with finding others
- 01:16 - 01:20
to work with that, recognize and appreciate my specific skills
- 01:21 - 01:23
this important in my chosen field, which is rapidly growing
- 01:24 - 01:25
and currently ingrained in social media.
- 01:27 - 01:30
Based on the opportunities created by my strengths and my
- 01:30 - 01:32
growing field, I plan to take full opportunity of the
- 01:33 - 01:35
circumstances and reach out to other glass workers with more
- 01:35 - 01:36
experience than May.
- 01:37 - 01:40
Luckily, Orlando is a fairly large glass scene, and I
- 01:40 - 01:43
will be living here well into 2021 the largest glass
- 01:43 - 01:46
facility that, with work that I am interested in, is
- 01:46 - 01:49
called Orlando Glass Union, and they offer classes with both
- 01:49 - 01:50
local and visiting artists.
- 01:50 - 01:52
So I plan to take full advantage of that resource.
- 01:53 - 01:56
I also plan to begin creating more work collaboratively with
- 01:56 - 01:58
other artists, as this could be a great way to
- 01:58 - 02:01
not only learn but to expand your audience and influence
- 02:01 - 02:01
within the community.
- 02:03 - 02:06
Lastly, if I'm lucky, I plan to find full or
- 02:06 - 02:08
part time work in a glass blowing position where I
- 02:08 - 02:10
would no longer have to foot the bill for everything
- 02:11 - 02:17
I create some areas in which I recognized weakness while
- 02:17 - 02:20
reviewing my sense of self assessments was in the areas
- 02:20 - 02:22
of managing conflict and having difficult conversations.
- 02:24 - 02:27
Unfortunately, these weaknesses of mind create threats when faced with
- 02:27 - 02:28
a disagreement or argument.
- 02:29 - 02:31
These threats refer to the problems created when I'm lacking
- 02:31 - 02:35
preparation for difficult conversations, especially in the pre work and
- 02:35 - 02:37
conversation portions of difficult conversations.
- 02:38 - 02:41
If these problems persist, I may have issues with using
- 02:41 - 02:43
forcing too often, which is my highest score on the
- 02:44 - 02:45
Dutch test of the managing conflict.
- 02:45 - 02:45
Self assessment.
- 02:49 - 02:52
To mitigate these weaknesses and to help avoid problems in
- 02:52 - 02:54
the future, I plan a practice tact in my conversations,
- 02:55 - 02:56
especially potentially conflictive ones.
- 02:58 - 02:59
I'll do this by working on the pre work aspect
- 03:00 - 03:04
of having difficult conversations by preparing for uncomfortable situations or
- 03:04 - 03:07
stepping out of the situation completely in order to gather
- 03:07 - 03:09
my thoughts and determine the best response for both parties,
- 03:10 - 03:13
preferably one that will not be too forceful from my
- 03:13 - 03:19
end. In conclusion, I plan to accentuate my strengths and
- 03:19 - 03:22
act on my opportunities by seeking out learning opportunities, collaborating
- 03:23 - 03:26
with others and searching for a paid position in my
- 03:26 - 03:29
field. I will improve upon my weaknesses and eliminate threats
- 03:29 - 03:33
by doing pre work for conversations and or stepping out
- 03:33 - 03:35
of conversations in order to better my position and emotions.
- 03:37 - 03:38
This concludes my presentation.
- 03:39 - 03:39
Thank you for your time.
- 03:40 - 03:42
Goodbye and have a wonderful evening.
