here. Um, and I was a bachelor of history.

Um, but I wanted to become a science teacher after,

Yeah, after I was a tutor at a local church

for computer science and just the innovation and everything that

came through it and the thought processes that the students

were learning about.

It made me wanna go into the field of stem.

And I'm inspire students to, you know, make create new

innovations. Engineering engineers, scientists, biomedical scientists are even doctors.

I just want to be a part of that growing

up because I know how important that is to our

future. Um, yeah, And right now, I'm a business operations

manager. I believe that my experience is being a manager

and deal with people can also help me translate into

classroom. Um, yeah, this this journey of becoming a teacher,

it went through all its different ways.

what is the purpose of education.

I believe the purpose of education is, um, you know,

a process of what humans grow but together, one by

one and gaining understand, being and control oneself in the
- 01:34 - 01:37
world. It involves just not just our bodies, but our
- 01:37 - 01:38
relationship with the people are around us.

And it includes both the formal and informal learning that
- 01:43 - 01:43
place in school.
- 01:43 - 01:48
And just throughout your daily life, bond and education just
- 01:48 - 01:49
doesn't start and end with school.

It is an ongoing process.

But schools are a way that you can foster and

a lot of more structured way that students go learn.

What is the role of a teacher?

So I believe that the role of the teacher is

taking first of all, taking care of the students are

placed in the care beyond that.

You know, teachers have multiple roles.

We set the tones of our classrooms.
- 02:11 - 02:15
We build warm environment, we nurture students, um, we educate
- 02:15 - 02:17
them on a certain subject area.

But most importantly, I believe personally, my what?

I believe that role of the teacher is someone that

can really be there for the students.

Inspire believe in their students.

Because a ZX, we all know students are all coming

from different types of backgrounds, different socioeconomic status, different home

life. So I believe, no matter what the circumstances of

professional teacher is someone who can really inspire and really

teach and grow their students not just to success succeed
- 02:44 - 02:47
academically, but as a as a citizen and as a
- 02:47 - 02:47
person as well.

And if you look at just some statistics, another things

that teachers should have is the first of all.

They should enjoy what they do.

Um, and, you know, like, these air just teach.

They teach teachers should be teaching it again if they

start over.

I believe these are just the intrinsic motivations that all

teachers should share on.

But if you look at just a statistical standards, uh,

teachers are percentages.

This is a percentage of how important teachers and 62%

of people said teachers are the most influential and more,

most, uh, impactful people in their communities On what is

the role of a student.

I believe a role of a student is they need

to first come into the classroom with intellectual curiosity, contribute

to classroom culture and accountability for their own actions on

being active participants well, and take personal accountability for their
- 03:38 - 03:39
learning and whatnot.

And I believe the role that I want to step

from my classroom is not just students that can just
- 03:45 - 03:47
come and learn and just obey blindly.

But, you know, I wanna build a culture of the

students and really instill that they are members contributing members
- 03:53 - 03:55
of society and they will be going forward.

Next one of them, I going to teach.

Like I said before, I want to teach general science.

I might want to go into earth, science and biology

But as of right now, I want to teach middle

school on science on.

in my subject area.

formative age group in junior high.

I wanna teach them to think scientifically, build academic character,

create and, like, a respect classroom conduct and respect for

each other and the the teachers as well.

That's something that I want to instill into my students

when I teach.

Um yeah, and just going on what doe I believe

on adolescent learning.

And what is so special about this age group is

because I think Junior High is a perfect transition where

students start to develop abstract thought and slowly start to

transition to a member of society.

Um, this is a time where students go through a

lot of physical, cognitive emotional change.

And I think this is Theo area where I can

really make an impact on life.

Um, like I said before, diversity students are coming in

from, or diverse backgrounds more than ever.

Eso You know, this is a very confusing stage, and

I want to be someone that could help guide them

through these times confusing times and I believe, like, yeah,

in this age group.

Um, if a teacher is excited, enthusiastic, this could be

the breaking point where, you know, students could really come

into the classroom or schools and be like, Hey, this

is something I wanna learn.

And this is something that we're Aiken really just spark

that and culture.

And I mean, cultivate that desire for learning and desire

to, you know, becoming ah better student and better person

younger age group and their focus level may not be,

to an adult I wanted to create a lot of

I believe that adolescents should learn a lot of hands

on group activity.

Um, not just a classic archaic traditional.

Right. I believe this is a time where adolescents will

learn better if their arm or engaged and having a

lot of hands on activities.

Yeah. So next, um, what am I going to teach

I believe, First of all, I want to teach the

common core standards of science, which is to think scientifically

um, uh, came to inform students on their duties.

Of what scientists and engineers are in their respective fields.

Um, and to help build practices to someone that will

do on the site what a science profession would look

like in the day to day basis.

And some of my instructional strategies that I plan to

introduce in contact are a scientific journal.

I would, um, introduce students to a scientific phenomenon that

seems like really crazy and really unbelievable in the realm

of science, which will eventually get them involved.

Kind of like a hook per se could get them

hooked onto the subject.

And then then we can I can formulate that into

my lesson.

and Culture Club Engage student learning, uh, through through that

I would say something called the Anticipation guide, which I

would ask students based on the scientific journal or a

video that I mean show water.

The expectations of what they expect toe learning this lesson

based on former knowledge.

So I can really draw upon former knowledge so they

don't feel so The new lesson doesn't feel us foreign

And then that way I can help connect the dots

and transition them from what they do know to what

they're going to know.

into my classrooms are graphic organizers and exit strategies exit

cards except learning.

So just just be ableto consistently know where my students

are. I know people.

Students have different, difficult learning the disabilities and they might
- 08:29 - 08:30
some maybe English learners.

So I think it's always important to, um, really just

check up on the students and what they do understand.

Um, trying to incorporate universal design of learning where I
- 08:40 - 08:43
can incorporate other means of learning rather than just words

Or, um, yeah, I just like, like just like the

scientific books.

But I could really just be able to incorporate, like,

graphic organizer's pictures words so they can really be able

to understand the content if they're not like, um, here

visual learners, Aiken, um or, um here site site learners.

I could just incorporate that as well.

Some exit strategies.

And, um, students don't always feel they need to take

tests and become a good test takers.

But they also need to develop good writing skills for

importers. Well, and lastly, I want to incorporate skits, some

skits for my assuming of assessments, videos, projects where they

could really be creative, and they can show their creative

side even in the realm of science.

So, in conclusion, um, this is my philosophy of dedication,

and I plan to continue to learn as a teacher,

not just, um you know, trying to give students lessons

plan, but yeah, I just really be there for the

students as well.

I know personally how important it is and to have

a good teacher that really believes in U.

all trying to get into our and learn.
