Transcript: Ex of Allusion pt.2 "Just think if it had sunk Titanic, what the fuck would you do to a critic, my nigga?" the reference to Titanic is an allusion in kendrick Lamars verse. titanic is s hip that was thought to had been desyroed and sunk from submerging (poking) an iceberg. Ex of Alliteration "But it stayed stagnant then I poked at it some more, some more" simple example of alliteration with the repeating of the S in majority of the words. i choose this song because from whole Chris brown album majority of the sings are very simplistic. but this and few others are deep and depressing it like you can hear the emotion in their voices through the song. this song is an allegory. every thing in this song is symbolic to something else. it is filled wit metaphors , similes and other poetic devices . Ex of Archetype "When it gon' rejoice and forgive, tell me how I stay positive When they never see good in me Even though I got hood in me Don't mean he won't redeem me, Lord" this stanza refrencing kendricks importatnt to relegion. depsite his image of being involved with sin he takes his relationshp with god very seroiusly and feels depsites his mistakes only god should judge him. the words "rejoice and frgive" are closely assocaited to God and christianity. which also lets us know that kendrick is a devod christian. this song is meaningful to me because this song is deeper then just a few beats and lyrics .This song has a deeper meaning about the battle Chris brown has with himself and women and being in constant spotlight. Kendrick Lamar verse is about the struggle he has with his career and constantly worrying about not being good enough.I think this song is a reference to success, fame, relevancy and popularity kendricks verse is abouthe kendrick lamar we see and the one he projects to the media as an "iceberg". His body of music is an iceberg. His grind and his career is an iceberg. He’s poking away at his career but for every bit he releases, for every personal trait we see, there’s much more under the surface. For every song he releases there are thoughts and unreleases songs. Its all clear through the line “if i do manage do to damage to you dammnit it’d be grand / its ten grammies or my granite still standing” He wants to do damage to the music industry and wants more grammies or recognition. Autumn Leaves by Chris Brown ft Kendrick Lamar the mood of autumn leaves i would describe as smooth. i believe Kendrick Lamar verse is most powerful i admire both the performers featured on this song because their music is more of poetry and speaks to a deeper meaning then most common music which is sex,money and drugs. The artist speak of life experiences and things that trouble their mind in their music. i enjoy if not every, majority of their selections. ex. of allusion the entire song is an example of allusion song refrences leaves in autumn and compares them to the tsruggles he has with his areer and love life. Ex of Analogy "The iceberg is a refection of you when you re-new your vision ' this analogy is literal after reading kendrick lamars verse this statement makes it clearer that the rerence to the iceberg is actually about society as a whole. Ex of a metaphor "Keep positivity in your heart and Keep a noose from 'round your throat and.." this means by staying postive and keeping yourself enlightening you prevent yourself from becoming your own critic. it prevents you from downing yourself to he point you are making everytimg in our life negative feeling (death/suicide) By Chris brown ft. Kendrick Lamar kendricks verse is about his struggle in the game . "Autumn Leaves" One of my favorite versions performed by Frank Sinatra (1956) on his album "Where are you?" "Autumn Leaves" one of the most beautiful jazz song with great clear music. Because of this, this song very popular more than 60 years. Also in this song we can understand the structure of classic jazz music. One of the most important instrument in this song is violin. We can hear fundamental pitch and harmonics mainly because of the violin.

We live and we die and life is a wonderful thing so we should just be happy. Don't let dying daunt you from living your life. The lesson I think is to cherish being around someone you love because you never know what can happen to them and it could be the last time you see them. The literary element that best helped show the theme is repetition because he repeats how much he misses them so they must be dead or gone away. Also similes helped too because autumn leaves are dead and they float down like a dead person being lowered into their grave. The title refers to the main verse in the song so the title is basically referring to someone dead. Therefore, the title is the theme. The song I wrote about is called "Autumn Leaves". The majority of the verses are repeating one meaning. "Another day, Another life, passes by just like mine, it's not complicated" is a verse in the song and it just means everyone lives and dies and it's not anything different. The chorus has a series of meanings. The first verse in the chorus (Do you ever wonder if the stars shine out for you?) is referring to someone passing away, saying they'll never be forgotten. The second line in the chorus, "Float down, like autumn leaves" is referring to someone being lowered into their grave. The chorus is just saying they are dead and they will never be forgotten. The other stanzas all mean the same thing; people live and people die. He writes very meaningful deep songs that have hidden meanings in them. This is one of his many songs he wrote about losing someone. The song itself sounds very calm and peaceful and his voice makes it sound even better. It has a good meaning to it and that's why I chose it; songs that have good meanings are the best songs. To me, this songs helps me remember to love and cherish every second you spend with someone because they can be gone in a split second. Green-Rhyme Pink-Repetition Red-Personification Orange-Simile Blue-Hyperbole There were many literary elements in the song. Lines 9 and 10, "Float down like autumn leaves" is a simile. I think the artist decided to use this simile because autumn leaves are dead so they're comparing autumn leaves to a dead person so when the autumn leaves float down, they're being lowered into their grave. Also lines 40 and 41, "Touch down like a seven four seven" is a simile and that means that a plane is landing and they compare this to the person landing in heaven. Another literary element the song had was lots of rhyming. They used rhyming to create a beat in the song. For example, the song used words such as "soul" and "old", "leaves" and "sleep", "cry" and "die". There was also repetition in the verses. The verses "it's not complicated" and "I miss you" were used frequently and those verses are repeated because he wants to get the point across that life isn't complicated and he misses someone who died. There was a hyperbole in the song which was "live forever now" and this was a hyperbole because you can't really live forever. The last literary element is personification. The verse "do you ever wonder if the stars shine out for you" is personification because stars cannot really shine out for people. The verse "is it that it's over or do birds still sing for you" is personification because birds don't really sing for someone. Analysis (1st paragraph) The speaker in the song is Ed Sheeran. He is singing as himself or maybe as a friend singing about his friend. His tone is most likely depressed because he is singing about death and missing someone. He attitude does change throughout the song. In the beginning, he says living and dying is normal and his emotions are neutral. Towards the end, he says death is hard and his emotions change to depressed. There wasn't a setting in the song. If there was a setting, it would probably be at a funeral or a graveyard.
