Curved Mirrors

Transcript: A convex mirror has a focal length of -10.8 cm. An object is placed 32.7 cm from the mirror's surface. Determine the image distance. Curved Mirrors Virtual image is made through the extension of the reflected ray which is overlapped with the observers sight. Video example of how the concave and convex is made to a diagram A 4.0-cm tall light bulb is placed a distance of 35.5 cm from a convex mirror having a focal length of -12.2 cm. Determine the image distance and the image size. Convex mirrors produce virtual images that are located behind the mirror. the image is behind the mirror because light rays diverge and reflect off the mirror and never intersect. Spherical Mirrors Note that the object's distance also have an affect the image's distance and size Incident ray traveling towards a convex mirror, so that its extension passes through the focal point, it will reflect and travel parallel to the principal axis. The mirror equation expresses the quantitative relationship between the object distance (do), the image distance (di), and the focal length (f). The equation is stated as: Concave mirrors are curved inwards. When reflecting an image, it will been seen upside down. There are two rules to concave mirrors: Any incident ray traveling parallel to the principal axis on the way to the mirror will pass through the focal point upon reflection. Any incident ray passing through the focal point on the way to the mirror will travel parallel to the principal axis upon reflection Concave Mirrors by Jennifer Sandoval Example: The Mirror equation - Convex Mirror Convex Mirrors The magnification equation relates the ratio of the image distance & object distance to the ratio of the image height (hi) and object height (ho). The magnification equation is stated as follows: Spherical mirrors are a class of curved mirrors that have a spherical shape. There are two types of spherical mirrors; Concave: silvered in the inside of the sphere Convex: silvered outside of the sphere Now You Practice Two Rules of Reflection for Convex Mirrors Convex mirrors are silvered on the outside of the sphere, so light can reflect off. Incident ray traveling parallel to the principle axis on the way to a convex mirror will reflect in a way that its extensions will pass through the focal point.

Curved Television

Transcript: The Curved Television brings the edges of the T.V. closer to you, which a flat T.V. does not, this creates a theatrical effect. What Is a Curved Television? A curved television has a curved screen because the manufacturers claim it has a more natural shape to take advantage of our round eyes peripheral vision, which should mean curved TV's allow a better experience. They are also supposed to give a wider viewing angle compared to a flat TV. It is an innovation of a regular television. What is the best thing about a curved television? In 1925 the first box television was created. Then next came the wider T.V. screen. Then more generations came along. Next came the flat screen television. Now the big thing is the curved televisions! Although things seem good and awesome with the curved television there are some negatives... For example; the curve limits your angles if you were on the right side, it could prevent you from seeing part of the right side of T.V. screen. Also, in order to see all of he screen with perfect vision and enjoyment, you would have to be directly in front in front of the screen. The curved shape of the T.V. reduces the amount of light reflections. Also, it gives a better viewing experience than a flat T.V., and it provides excellent dark image content and perfect blacks, because it wont be spoiled by light reflected off the screen. How was the Curved television used back in the old days? How did he curved television impact the society in a better way? Who Was the Inventor Of the Curved Television? What is the purpose of the Curved Televation Despite the few angle issues with the curved television, it really is a good product. It is claimed to have a good screen quality because it's round shape takes advantage of our round eye simulations to the roundish shape of the screen. How did the curved television effect the 21st century in a bad way. The Samsung company was the first to invent the curved television. Also, it was first introduced to the market in 2013. I chose to promote the Human Rights Campaign with my piece Learn to Love. I am showing how many who oppose LGBT rights can be LGBT themselves and, showing compassion is the best way to promote a positive change. For our fourth project we made self portraits mimicking the style of an other artist. The artist I chose to mimic was Aaron Sacco. I chose him because I like his posterized style and I enjoyed his hair and eyebrows __________________________ After Our first project was to create an illustration for an adjective using only three circles and three rectangles. Date Completed: 4/16/16 Our second project was three parts. Part one was remove all of the freckles from a girls face. Part two was to make a color image black& white while keeping the contrast of the colors intact. Part three was to make an abstract piece. Original photography courtesy of Josh Corken. Communication With Shape ________________________________ Our third project was to make cover art for an album that was assigned to us. The album I got was Reset by Mutemath They are from New Orleans their music has an almost futuristic sound. I immediately thought of a robot destroying human civilization to "reset" the earth. I used photoshop to make this robot destroying the New Orleans skyline. ____________________________ These two pieces won a 1st place finish in the Tri Kappa Art Show and the ICC Conference Art Show.
