NOTE: THE IMAGE FOR A CONVEX MIRROR Parallel light rays diverge after reflection on a convex mirror. A convex mirror is a curved mirror in which the reflective surface bulges towards the light source. Convex mirrors curve outward creating a focal point behind the mirror. In a convex mirror, images appear right-side up, shrunken and virtual, or placed somewhere behind the mirror. Automobile enthusiasts often call it a fish eye mirror while other physics texts refer to it as a diverging mirror. A convex mirror is also a good security device. Store owners, for instance, install a number of them inside their stores and orient them in such a way that a single security personnel can see large portions of the store even while monitoring from a single location. Concave Mirrors Convex Mirrors COMPARISON A curved mirror is a mirror with a curved reflecting surface It is a reflecting surface in which the surface is a section of a sphere There are two types of curved mirrors: concave and convex. Concave mirrors are used in everything from shaving mirrors to a car's headlights. These mirrors curve inward, creating a focal point in front of the mirror. Because of their shape and focus point placement, images in concave mirrors appear upside down and far away. However, when you move closer, the object enlarges. If you get close enough, the object enlarges more and the image is right-side up. In conclusion, we use lenses and mirrors everyday but sometimes don't really understand how and why they do what they do. We see and use convex and concave mirrors everyday. Concave mirrors are used in car headlights, flashlights, telescopes, microscopes, satellite dishes and camera flashes. Dentists, ear, nose and throat doctors use concave mirrors during examinations to see a larger image of what they are examining. On the other side, Convex mirrors are used inside buildings, large hospitals, stores and office buildings to allow people to see what is around a corner to help keep people from running into one another. Ray 2: travels through the focus point and reflects parallel to the principle axis (opposite of Ray 1) A convex mirror reflects on a wider angle which creates a slightly distorted image which is smaller than the actual size. These type of mirrors are used in department stores, passenger side mirror, etc. Unlike concave mirrors, a image formed by convex mirrors cannot be displayed or projected on a screen. This image is called a virtual image. Concave mirrors are curved inwards like a spoon. The area where curvature bounces light to a specific area in front of it is called a focus point. Ray 1: travels parallel to the principle axis and reflects through the focus point.

Transcript: The Curved Television brings the edges of the T.V. closer to you, which a flat T.V. does not, this creates a theatrical effect. What Is a Curved Television? A curved television has a curved screen because the manufacturers claim it has a more natural shape to take advantage of our round eyes peripheral vision, which should mean curved TV's allow a better experience. They are also supposed to give a wider viewing angle compared to a flat TV. It is an innovation of a regular television. What is the best thing about a curved television? In 1925 the first box television was created. Then next came the wider T.V. screen. Then more generations came along. Next came the flat screen television. Now the big thing is the curved televisions! Although things seem good and awesome with the curved television there are some negatives... For example; the curve limits your angles if you were on the right side, it could prevent you from seeing part of the right side of T.V. screen. Also, in order to see all of he screen with perfect vision and enjoyment, you would have to be directly in front in front of the screen. The curved shape of the T.V. reduces the amount of light reflections. Also, it gives a better viewing experience than a flat T.V., and it provides excellent dark image content and perfect blacks, because it wont be spoiled by light reflected off the screen. What is the purpose of the Curved Televation Despite the few angle issues with the curved television, it really is a good product. It is claimed to have a good screen quality because it's round shape takes advantage of our round eye simulations to the roundish shape of the screen. How did the curved television effect the 21st century in a bad way. The Samsung company was the first to invent the curved television. Also, it was first introduced to the market in 2013. I chose to promote the Human Rights Campaign with my piece Learn to Love. I am showing how many who oppose LGBT rights can be LGBT themselves and, showing compassion is the best way to promote a positive change. For our fourth project we made self portraits mimicking the style of an other artist. The artist I chose to mimic was Aaron Sacco. I chose him because I like his posterized style and I enjoyed his hair and eyebrows __________________________ After Our first project was to create an illustration for an adjective using only three circles and three rectangles. Date Completed: 4/16/16 Our second project was three parts. Part one was remove all of the freckles from a girls face. Communication With Shape ________________________________ Our third project was to make cover art for an album that was assigned to us. The album I got was Reset by Mutemath They are from New Orleans their music has an almost futuristic sound. I immediately thought of a robot destroying human civilization to "reset" the earth. I used photoshop to make this robot destroying the New Orleans skyline. ____________________________ These two pieces won a 1st place finish in the Tri Kappa Art Show and the ICC Conference Art Show.
